I've been thinking/internally debating a lot about it today, and I feel after summer it might be for the best to slowly go back to taking a class a season and get on track to finishing my degree since I've knocked out all my Gen-Ed classes. However I'm left with some questions: -Will I keep the credits I earned from two years ago? It's the same school. -Do schools ever purge inactive students? If I don't have any problems with the previous two questions, I'm stuck on a choice of two different degrees. A Technical Certificate in Film Production and an A.S. in Film Production. The first is slightly shorter and I can complete it faster but the latter I have all the gen-ed classes completed and I wouldn't have to leave my job at the end to get the degree. I'm really torn on choosing one; I don't really want to be in a position of leaving the company but I kind of want to get it over with. What would you guys suggest?

An interesting Anti-Feminism video calling for significantly more male representation in universities, and why it can benefit society.

I find it mind-boggling that with all the absolute weeabs on here no one bothered to make a Persona 5 thread all this time (or bump the current one if there was already one).
How is it so far? I might get it this Thursday, I've been waiting for a used copy of the steelbook edition to pop-up but a new copy has sprung up for roughly the same price so I'm holding out for a few more days.
I can already tell how my social links are going to go: Makoto > Haru > Everyone else

Gotta be up in five and a half hours to get ready for work. Literally the only morning shift I've ever gotten in the past five months. This is impossible since I've been going to bed around 2am every night since then. I've got no sleep meds, any advice?

The official prologue to the movie. I like the little "Foods not that bad" line making its way back from the original 1979 film. I also like the huge cast of characters that will be complete fodder for the Xenomorphs. Don't like the jarring conversations though, even before they started drinking it was hard to tell that this wasn't a trailer from the way the shots were made.

United Airlines stock is PLUMMETING. 3.7% equating to 380 million dollars, this is how you majorly fuck up a company. TL;DW: United Airlines overbooks on a flight, decides to kick paying customers off the flight for their employees, a doctor who has to see patients in the morning refuses, and they beat the man and forcibly drag off the plane. GG United, should've just stayed with breaking musical instruments.

Please stop calling him the bad guy. He did the wrong things for the right reasons and his actions were far better than any other possible outcomes for humanity, all of them involving a nuclear-winter Hell for the entire human race. Moral absolutist Rorschach was a fucking idiot and would purposefully let billions of people die to a nuclear war because "Hurr it's better than lying!"

http://www.cnn.com/2017/04/05/middleeast/idlib-syria-attack/TL;DR: Syrian Government uses chemical weapons dropped from planes onto rebel occupied city. Civilians and children killed in attack. This is going to be hard for Assad to defend, yeah Aleppo is liberated but all those people cheering as their city was finally free from violence aren't going to be so happy to hear their family could have possibly been attacked literally right next door.

http://archive.is/8sk6qIf you wanted a bag of Doritos from one of Brad Appelhans' experimental vending machines, you'd have to wait. The associate professor of preventative medicine at Rush University Medical Center designed a device that fits inside of vending machines and waits 25 seconds before releasing the typical processed snacks. But healthier fare — like peanuts or popcorn — drops instantly.
Think of it as a sort of "time tax." The idea is that every second you spend waiting for a snack will make you want it less, similar to how a tax on sugary drinks might get you to buy less soda, Appelhans says.
"We were interested in the ability to test whether time delays can nudge people to healthier choices," he says.
So, he created DISC, or "Delays to Influence Snack Choice," to test the idea. The device is a platform inserted inside a vending machine that catches snacks falling from the top half of the machine, where a vending machine operator would sort all of the unhealthy snacks. On the display window, a written decal tells customers they'll have to wait for an extra 25 seconds for less-healthy snacks.
When a snack falls onto DISC, it triggers a 25-second countdown on the vending machine's display screen. At the end of the countdown, DISC drops its platform and the snack falls into the vending machine's bay. Healthier snacks are all sorted into the bottom half of the vending machine and so would bypass the platform altogether.
To qualify as "healthy," snacks had to meet 5 out of 7 criteria, such as packing fewer than 250 calories, 350 mg of sodium or 10 mg of added sugars per serving, containing no transfats or getting less than 35 percent of their calories from fat. (Some might quibble with that last point.) It's the food stamp debate all over again. Pick up a fucking banana every once in a while, or if you're so desperate for a bunch of candy bars, actually do shit afterwards to get rid of the weight.

Once again, I post this in Gaming because it's slightly more relevant. http://money.cnn.com/2017/03/25/news/companies/gamestop-stores-closing/The retailer of new and used video games has been on shaky ground for a while. Its stock has plummeted more than 31% over the past year. "Shaky" is a terrible word to use, GS has become almost completely irrelevant in the past five/six years. But the most laughable thing they had to say was in response to why they are going down: On Thursday, the company said its overall sales fell 13.6% last quarter compared to a year prior. At the core of GameStop's issues: It's not selling enough video games.
CEO Paul Raines said in a statement Thursday that "the video game category was weak, particularly in the back half of 2016."
That's because the biggest names in gaming -- Playstation maker Sony (SNE) and Xbox maker Microsoft (MSFT, Tech30) -- haven't updated their consoles in a while, Raines said. That creates a lag in business for retailers like GameStop. This is fucking bullshit. The gaming industry has done nothing but grow in the last decade, Gamestop is dying because you can simply buy new/used games cheaper online without having to leave your home. Other reasons include: -Other online retailers having their own deals/preorder bonuses/extras when buying from them -Not having to be pushed to be a Premium member or subscribe to a fucking magazine -Actually including the fucking box and manual of the game regardless of its preowned status -Buying the game digitally off the console store and being able to play it in just a few hours. There is no "lag" in business due to console sales. What you are seeing is a jump in sales because of the console's release, that jump is NOT something you should expect daily you fucking retail troglodytes. In all honesty though? Good riddance, GameStop was a blight on the industry, thank God online shopping and alternatives sprung up to save the consumer from being abused by shareholders holding their hobby at ransom.

http://dailycaller.com/2017/03/23/shia-laboeuf-moves-he-will-not-divide-us-to-uk-gets-trolled-1-day-later/Shia shut down his HWNDU wall. He instead raises a flag that is supposed to stay up for four years. That gets taken down and replaced with a flag of Pepe, so Shia moves to a new location. THAT flag gets taken and used in a game of Capture the Flag, so Shia decides that the US "isn't safe" and moves to the UK. Well sorry Shia, but nowhere is safe for your "project" which is nothing more than a laughing stock now. As the flag has been found in its "Secret location" and trolled by the internet again. Shia followed police advice and removed the flag afterwards. Shia, by the time you find a "safe" enough space for your project, it will be so far removed from relevancy that no one will care anymore. They only care now because it's funny.

Debated throwing this in Serious but decided on Gaming because it ultimately is, about a video game. Watch the video, I'm not giving you a damn TL;DW. Before any dumb asses comes in and says "Playtonic has every right to do what they please with their product", that's not the problem. No one denies that, but financial backers have a right to their money back before a product has been given to them, and banning individuals demanding a refund isn't going to stop them from rightfully getting their money back if they go above the studio and to Kickstarter themselves. This is Mighty No. 9 all over again, and Playtonic is 100% in the wrong when it comes to how they're handing the situation involving their "backers".

https://qz.com/878503/ke-jie-the-worlds-best-go-player-says-he-still-has-one-last-move-to-defeat-google-goog-deepminds-alphago-ai/Over the past few days, Google’s Deepmind machine-learning team secretively put its AlphaGo artificial intelligence system onto two Chinese online board-game platforms to test its skill in fast-paced games against several of the world’s best Go players. As of Jan. 4, when the test was completed, AlphaGo had racked up 60 wins and no losses. The best any of the humans could muster was merely a tie, forced when a player went offline, which required the game be recorded as a tie.
The millenia-old board game of Go had long been thought of being beyond the reach of artificial intelligence programs thanks to its notorious complexity. But AlphaGo’s sweeping wins, coming after its March victory over Korean Go champion Lee Sedol, have proved emphatically that AI could play the game at a level no human has, or likely ever could, attain.
.....
Ke had been confident that AlphaGo could not beat him after the AI’s March victory over Lee. But after his first two losses to “Master” in recent days, he acknowledged that humans are no match for AI in this game. His edge against AlphaGo in the top Go player ranking is left at just dozens of points. I would like to see how AI develops beyond simple board games. Seeing such swift and precise victories in RTS titles or Shooters would be a sight indeed.

"Am I Being Detained?" These four words are the only ones you need to know when dealing with police officers. Remember, Police are only wannabe authority figures with a gun and a useless badge that mean nothing. You have rights guaranteed to you by The Articles of Confederation. You have zero obligation to comply with police or even acknowledge their existence. They cannot lay a finger on you, that is assault and even rape in some cases. Under no circumstances should you ever interact with "Law Enforcement" as they are anything but "Lawful".

AMDrones are committing mass suicide for falling for the Ryzen meme. REMINDER: Never trust a company that continuously lies about their upcoming product as being competing with the top (Video cards with Nvidia, CPUs with Intel), then fails and backpedals claiming their product is about "Price performance". Ryzen is a fucking joke, we got the same performance five years ago and with less power consumption, this would be an insult if it wasn't so funny. Commencing AMDcuck meme dump:

Over at the well educated and intellectual subreddit of GamerGhazi (a shadow of Kotaku In Action), they discuss their displeasure at their crumbling ground and how their online territory is receding. Sargon does an excellent job tearing down the first couple of posts in the video below: However there were plenty of other responses that he missed that is in need of a wake-up call. I think what's actually happening is we've bred a series of rich young men who receive constant ego validation and thus they've become utterly unable to handle even the slightest criticism. Interesting how Felix has apologized three different times during #PewDieGate and you still say he can't take criticism, or when Sargon brings on people who don't actually hold the same beliefs as him for a legitimate debate, but he as well can't take criticism supposedly. Meanwhile you hide behind the safe space of an echo chamber subreddit. Jontron was bad, but I think it could be manageable because he was going alt-right from stupidity to the point where people could see through his shit. This is objectively untrue. He denounced the Alt-Right in the very same stream he was in with Sargon, he is a voice of reason. People aren't "seeing through his shit" they're running away from a rational perspective that they don't agree with. Hell, Pewdie's fans are going after the WSJ journalist and JK Rowling with his newest video. Something has to be done before something really awful happens. You mean giving The WSJ and Rowling a taste of their own medicine? I wonder how this particular poster feels about the WSJ Editor who got PDP released from Disney making all those racist jokes on his own twitter channel? Or is it only okay when they do it? And what counts as "damaging" to you? People looking at your hypocrisy for what it is? What do you propose Youtube "do" with him and these other channels?
Re: Ban actual hatred, sexism, and fascist apologia from their site? Well that wont do much since PDP isn't a hateful sexist racist fascist bigot. Basically what this translates to is: Ban everything I don't agree with, even if it's a joke. YouTube was always a dumpster fire youtube debuted when i was in high school and i've never understood the idea of a community based there I'll let you in on a secret: Youtube has always been awful.
