Serious / Mental Health Awareness
« on: May 24, 2017, 11:24:22 AM »
The month may almost be over but it's still important to discuss. May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Most of you probably already know that but also probably don't do much for any kind of stress/emotional trouble in your life. Letting it pass might work for some or most but it may not work every time nor is it a universal cure for people who are struggling.

https://talklife.co/

This is an app where you literally just post how you're feeling. As you can see from some of the pics, some of the things people post might seem "cringey" to you, but most of us would by lying if we said we didn't feel the same at some point. There's a stigma against talking about how you feel even though most people feel better when they talk about their problems.

I personally don't need the app, if I ever have any problems I have people around me I can talk to. You might be the same but it's nice to know that you always have a tool at your disposal just in case.

I'm not a farmer, my mom was but she gave up that lifestyle to be an an accountant so I don't even think I could be grandfathered into being called one.

Was he cute?

i was at taco bell once and the guy who took my order disappeared. not unusual, but then his coworker came to the window and asked me if i was gay or bi because the dude who took my order wanted to ask me out on a date. he wasnt my type and im not into sexual relationships with people w/ penises anyway so i just kinda awkwardly said nah and drove off.

If you're gay, ever been hit on by a straight person?

This one guy at the eye doctor a few years ago would keep telling me "You have pretty blue eyes" whenever I was waiting for my results (they're always 20/20.

Haven't gone since but according to my mom and sister that guy isn't there anymore. I still see fine so there's no reason for me to go still.

In what universe do you think anyone who doesn't visit this website give a shit about what we post on here? And you must have a very small view of the world if you think people can't laugh at a racist joke without being an awful person.

No, this doesn't mean you should go on Facebook and start cracking jokes about the KKK. There's a time and place for everything and there is literally nothing wrong with with the time and place now. No, the internet isn't some haven where white supremacists are allowed to plot the downfall of every other race, but it isn't a fucking hug box either where we have to avoid potentially hurting other people's feelings.

I call Chally a goat fucker, he calls me a pasty white boi, other than his racial banter being terrible he literally doesn't give a shit and neither should you.

b-b-but if i cant do racisms on the internet then what is the point of freeze peach =[

One should keep in mind that the full story of the Xenomorph still isn't explained and likely wont be. We know how David has created a Xenomorph and how that would lead up to the 1979 Alien, but the murals on the wall in Prometheus show a Xenomorph meaning they were already an established being by the time of Prometheus and Covenant.

New Letter From The Producer Live, fucking four hours long.

New Job Actions trailer:

YouTube

Job Changes:
>Cross Class actions completely removed for Cross Role actions
>Certain abilities/actions completely removed from the game (Rampart & Bloodbath for example)
>Cross Role actions divided into: Tank/Healer/Melee DPS/Ranged DPS/Caster DPS
>Example of higher level Cross Role ability for tank is a multi-target Provoke
>Cleric Stance is staying but is no longer an actual :stance" instead just buff that increases magic damage dealt
>Each job gets a new HUD icon that helps display stacks/buffs/new abilities
>SMN summons a fucking Bahamut-Egi
>Removal of cast times for BRD/MCH

Notable examples (not limited to just these):

BLM: New abilities such as one that lets you teleport back to your Leylines; Enochian only available when under Astral Fire/Umbral Ice; Enochian recast shortened to 30s; will stay active so long as you remain in either Astral Fire/Umbral Ice; Using Blizzard IV gives you Umbral "Hearts", a stack of three lets you execute a new ability.

WAR: Stacks of Wrath/Abandoned removed, instead you get a gauge that fills up to 100 with actions giving you different amounts towards that gauge; Can use certain abilities that depletes certain amounts in the gauge, one example is Yoshi using Fell Cleave SEVEN times; Infuriate completely fills the gauge.

PLD: Similar to WAR, lets you fill a gauge for your Oath stances; new actions that let you shield party members behind you, taking 15% less damage.

Accuracy and Parry are removed. Replaced with new stats for increasing damage. Piety removed from attribute point allocation, Mind now affects healer damage dealt instead of Intelligence, hence why Cleric Stance was changed.

Other changes:

>Mount speed increased in ARR areas
>Can unlock a faster speed later by revisiting old areas
>Still no flying in ARR areas

PVP Changes:

No one cares about PVP

Jump Potions:

>Two different types of Jump Potions
>One for skipping the story and one for skipping leveling
>Available June 16th with Early Access
>One type per service account to record data, adjustments will be made in 4.1

>Story Potions split between two potions
>All duties required to be completed during the story will be marked as completed
>One will complete all ARR Story Quests up to 2.55 Before the Dawn
>$18
>One skips all Story Quests from ARR & Heavensward up to 3.56 The Far Edge Of Fate
>$25
>If you have not unlocked a Chocobo you will automatically be given one with a randomly generated name
>If you had not chosen a Grand Company you will be automatically enlisted to the one of your starting city state

>Leveling potions will be tied to one specific job
>Level immediately to 60 and have all job quests completed and all actions unlocked for job
>Certain side quests will be completed to access certain duties but the duty itself wont be marked completed for a new time bonus
>Story will not be skipped at all

>Please look forward to more coverage

In the last four to five years they haven't changed exponentially, nor do I see them changing anytime soon.

Now my views from about a decade ago? Pfffft, that's like a night and day difference.

Gaming / Re: So did we like Final Fantasy 15?
« on: May 22, 2017, 01:00:52 PM »
As someone who was anticipating the game since I saw the first trailer back in 2006, it was worth the wait.

Is the game perfect? Hell no, there's glaring flaws that really stick out while going through the game. However, everything good about the game completely overshadows them. There's so many little things they have added that helped bring it to life and made me grow an attachment to the main party.

>Noctis is fishing and catches something small
>Prompto: "Pffft, nice work catching that dude....."
>Gladio: "Puny, just like yours."

>Get toad
>Using Maiden's Kiss
>Ignis: "Hoppy to see you back."

>Go on morning tour with Gladio, picking flowers for Iris
>He wants you to give it to her
>Next time you visit Iris a cute cutscene plays out where Noctis awkwardly gives her flowers and is embarrassed

World is a bit small and the chapters are way too short after Altissia. It seems like there was plans to have the Nifelheim and Tenebrae regions explorable at first but were cut in order to make the release window. Not even being able to explore the Tenebrae castle was one huge "Really?" moment for me. Story was pretty straight forward but as I said, it was incredibly rushed in the second half of the game, like exponentially. Chapter's 10 & 11 can be completed in under an hour.

Part of me still would have liked to see what Nomura's vision of Versus XIII would've been. Unlike most people, I wasn't opposed to the Fabula Nova Crystalis series and I wouldn't have minded Versus XIII/XV being in the universe, especially since the lore in XV currently still feels like it was awkwardly forced out of FNC's mythos.

All in all? Yes, I very much love FFXV and it managed to jump its way into my top three behind FFXIV and the king FFXII. It's a flawed but very fun and lovable game.

Before, you had to use your imagination to think of their creation. You were limited only by what you could come up with. If you couldn't think of an explanation it only made it seem more terrifying.

I dont share the same view then. Again, i would understand if it was supernatural.

>People STILL think Harambe was dangerous

He did NOTHING to the child. He was agitated by on lookers and took him to another part of the enclosure, presumably as an act of defense. The gorilla was born and worked around humans, he didn't see the child as a threat and the way the child was being handled is dubious at best that it was in any way aggressive.

And that's why you don't let your kid around wild animals. Wasn't Harambe enough?
