So, TheForce.net has got to be one of the most hilariously sensitive, whiny communities I've ever seen. Not only is there a thread with 9,000+ replies titled "Ignorance is Bias: The Diversity Manifesto", but I recently found this gem. I've taken some screenshots of the highlights.

So, to summarize how this came about: There's a discussion on how in AoTC, it doesn't make sense that Padme has such a subdued reaction to Anakin stating he murdered an entire village of Tusken Raiders. One guy, Gallandro, says that in Star Wars, because the settlers are so often the victims of the Tusken's brutal raids, the settlers see the Tuskens as less than human (or sentient beings or whatever). This is supported by Cliegg Lars referring to the Sandpeople as "animals". Which, to be honest, I can understand. Sandniggers Tusken Raiders haven't proven themselves to be the most compassionate people. It's also important to note that another user, Saga Explorer, agrees with Gallandro and comments on the matter.

So anyway, these guys say that if the settlers see the Tuskens as animals, and because Padme has been speaking exclusively with the Lars family, to her Anakin killing the village is basically the same as killing a pack of wolves. He didn't say such thinking was justified, Gallandro merely attempted to explain Padme's subdued reaction to Anakin's confession. And my gosh, the butthurt and #triggering that ensued...

Here's an album of the highlights. It's mainly the comments of two mods, but their posts have a lot of likes, indicating many agree with them.

Again, allow me to remind you that these users, Gallandro and SagaExplorer, never said such thinking was justified, they only attempted to explain why the pacifist Padme didn't flip out. Yet, the mods and others react as though these guys said Hitler was justified. A guy's comments about a fictional species in Star Wars spiraled into a serious discussion on the sanctity of life and the rights of sentient beings, with the mods saying the statements of the users are "gross". Given that this is the same community that had people referring to the Plinkett reviews as "PROPAGANDA" (in all caps too), this doesn't surprise me. Honestly if I didn't know any better, you could tell me this was a Star Wars discussion on Tumblr and I would probably believe you.

These are great.

For me, dead or dying communities always manage to depress me. This Marathon community being a prime example. Just... saddens me.

Another one is remembering the good old days of Bungie, during the Halo days. I don't hate contemporary Bungie like a lot of others seem to, but nonetheless the Halo 3 days were best. These videos, with the Marty-Staten-Jones banter really get 'ya right in the feels:




Post stuff involving video games, internet communities, etc. that pulls at the heartstrings.

I want to apologize for being so close-minded. I know I was quite hurtful at times toward those who like anime here, and I regret it.

I've actually begun to watch some of it, and it isn't half bad. I found this anime comedy that's absolutely hilarious, cracks me up every time. Here's a clip:

From the PC version of Shadows of The Empire. I was familiar with the N64 version, but didn't know the PC version had actual cutscenes. It's nice to be able to assign a voice to IG-88, and the one he has in the clip isn't too bad.

In regards to hostage situations, they're never gonna give them up.

Excellent action-packed issue this time around. So far, this series seems to be much more action-focused than the Darth Vader series, which is more focused on the internal political intrigue of the Empire, whereas this is more classic Star Wars, which I'm perfectly fine with. 
There was, of course, more than just chaotic action. With Star Wars #3, we see the end of the Cymoon arc, and a key point in the overall story of Star Wars, which also ties in nicely to Darth Vader #1, which I will elaborate on later on.  Because the issue isn't too long, I'll just state my complaints and then get to what I found interesting.

1) How the artist draws Darth Vader's helmet and Stormtrooper helmets. They aren't too bad, but they aren't as nice as they are in the Darth Vader series, and sometimes they seem just off.

2) The sequence involving the escape from the weapons factory was downright confusing, and could have been fixed by simply adding a couple panels portraying Luke escaping to the Falcon and Vader and Overseer Aggadeen escaping the explosion.

Now, to what I found interesting. Spoilers follow.


Well, thus ends my review of Star Wars #3! Darth Vader #3 releases on March 25th, I'm even more excited for that one.

Always be sure to let your appearance speak for itself. Let a girl know what you have in mind with your clothing alone, this is especially important regarding headgear.
