Wow. Looks pretty good, actually. Really hope they don't throw in Darth Vader too much, though. Don't want to.risk making him appear ineffective. Also not a big fan of the clones' design.

Here's an album from Celebration Anaheim showing TFA costumes and props, such as new Stormtrooper armor varieties and Kylo Ren's lightsaber. As you can see, the remnants of, or the successor to, the Galactic Empire is known as the First Order. I'm getting an almost theocratic feel from the "First Order", which is further amplified by it's name. Take this screenshot for example: The number of robed figures in the background. The red banner with the First Order's insignia. I'm getting a sort of Sith theocracy vibe from all of this. It's difficult to explain. The presence of Vader's helmet, and Kylo Ren's rather clumsily made/more improvised looking lightsaber are what really makes me think the First Order is very much centered around the Sith. I think this Kylo Ren guy may have reunited the various factions the Empire might split into in the upcoming Shattered Empire comics and the Star Wars: Aftermath novel. Kylo Ren reunites these factions under the banner of the First Order. However, this First Order is quite different from the old Empire in some aspects, being more focused on reconnecting with the Sith legacy and reestablishing them and their rule. As a result, what was once the Galactic Empire has become somewhat theocratic; and Kylo Ren's, and by extension the Order's, goal is to recover Sith artifacts, such as Vader's helmet, and in their eyes reclaim the Sith legacy. Also, seeing as the Sith were destroyed at the end of ROTJ, it's likely that Ren isn't a true Sith. This is evidenced by his more clumsily made looking lightsaber hilt as seen in the album, and thus it's more unstable-looking energy blade. Kylo Ren isn't a Sith, he's a wanna-be, a fake. I'd really like to see Kylo Ren misinterpret the events of ROTJ, thinking that Vader did in fact attempt to carry out his overthrow of Palpatine, but was somehow thwarted. Kylo Ren would idolize Vader, but would be overcome with rage when Luke reveals that Vader died Anakin Skywalker, and in fact destroyed the Sith. Also, one last thing of interest: So yeah, speculate as to the nature of this "First Order", and post-ROTJ events.

This all nine of the photos released, that have been edited together. Their instagram gallery: https://instagram.com/eastarwars/Looks great. Also, looks like we're getting more than just the E-11 for Stormtroopers, the blaster rifle he's carrying is the DLT-19, a prop used in the film, that was created using an MG-34

So, TheForce.net has got to be one of the most hilariously sensitive, whiny communities I've ever seen. Not only is there a thread with 9,000+ replies titled "Ignorance is Bias: The Diversity Manifesto", but I recently found this gem. I've taken some screenshots of the highlights. So, to summarize how this came about: There's a discussion on how in AoTC, it doesn't make sense that Padme has such a subdued reaction to Anakin stating he murdered an entire village of Tusken Raiders. One guy, Gallandro, says that in Star Wars, because the settlers are so often the victims of the Tusken's brutal raids, the settlers see the Tuskens as less than human (or sentient beings or whatever). This is supported by Cliegg Lars referring to the Sandpeople as "animals". Which, to be honest, I can understand. Sandniggers Tusken Raiders haven't proven themselves to be the most compassionate people. It's also important to note that another user, Saga Explorer, agrees with Gallandro and comments on the matter. So anyway, these guys say that if the settlers see the Tuskens as animals, and because Padme has been speaking exclusively with the Lars family, to her Anakin killing the village is basically the same as killing a pack of wolves. He didn't say such thinking was justified, Gallandro merely attempted to explain Padme's subdued reaction to Anakin's confession. And my gosh, the butthurt and #triggering that ensued...Here's an album of the highlights. It's mainly the comments of two mods, but their posts have a lot of likes, indicating many agree with them. Again, allow me to remind you that these users, Gallandro and SagaExplorer, never said such thinking was justified, they only attempted to explain why the pacifist Padme didn't flip out. Yet, the mods and others react as though these guys said Hitler was justified. A guy's comments about a fictional species in Star Wars spiraled into a serious discussion on the sanctity of life and the rights of sentient beings, with the mods saying the statements of the users are "gross". Given that this is the same community that had people referring to the Plinkett reviews as "PROPAGANDA" (in all caps too), this doesn't surprise me. Honestly if I didn't know any better, you could tell me this was a Star Wars discussion on Tumblr and I would probably believe you. Here's the thread, around the beginning of the debate if you're willing to delve into the autism: http://boards.theforce.net/threads/star-wars-aftermath.50028106/page-29So yeah. What experiences have you had with sensitive communities or users on the internet?

Pretty good so far, on episode four. I know very little about Daredevil, but as with most of the MCU you don't really need to know much about the comics to get into it. It's set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but it has a very gritty tone, pretty close to that of the comics based on what little I know about them.
Acting is good, fight scenes are good, very intense, Dardevil isn't afraid to use rather violent interrogation measures. Rated MA, but all I've heard is "shit" so far so language isn't too bad.
I'd recommend it.

For me, dead or dying communities always manage to depress me. This Marathon community being a prime example. Just... saddens me. Another one is remembering the good old days of Bungie, during the Halo days. I don't hate contemporary Bungie like a lot of others seem to, but nonetheless the Halo 3 days were best. These videos, with the Marty-Staten-Jones banter really get 'ya right in the feels: Post stuff involving video games, internet communities, etc. that pulls at the heartstrings.

I want to apologize for being so close-minded. I know I was quite hurtful at times toward those who like anime here, and I regret it. I've actually begun to watch some of it, and it isn't half bad. I found this anime comedy that's absolutely hilarious, cracks me up every time. Here's a clip:

Lord Vader's personal starship has arrived. I plan to paint it and get it looking as good as possible, but until I get the paints required I'll make due with the decals provided. I also have a standard TIE Fighter arriving later today. Getting this thing out of the sprues was a pain. I didn't have any sprue-cutters, so I used an Exacto-knife, and... blood loss ensued. I cut my finger's joint, the wound was quite deep, and I became very dizzy, started sweating, losing my hearing and vision. But I prevailed. Nothing was going to keep me from building the Dark Lord's starfighter. And I did so. Spoiler As you can tell, my Stormtrooper is missing the gray on the mouth-grill, as well as the silver filters and blue lines along the side. I was applying the waterslide decals for the first time, and ended up messing up really bad and damaging the decals. As of right now I'm searching for paints to get it fixed. From the PC version of Shadows of The Empire. I was familiar with the N64 version, but didn't know the PC version had actual cutscenes. It's nice to be able to assign a voice to IG-88, and the one he has in the clip isn't too bad.

I wonder if there's a Bangkok Advanced X1? Spoiler For those who are rebel scum and by some miracle don't get it, it's supposed to be "TIE Advanced X1", which is Vader's TIE fighter. It appears that some feature similar to autocorrect changed the title. I just bought this, it's arriving on Friday. Can't wait to assemble it! Also:

Excellent action-packed issue this time around. So far, this series seems to be much more action-focused than the Darth Vader series, which is more focused on the internal political intrigue of the Empire, whereas this is more classic Star Wars, which I'm perfectly fine with. There was, of course, more than just chaotic action. With Star Wars #3, we see the end of the Cymoon arc, and a key point in the overall story of Star Wars, which also ties in nicely to Darth Vader #1, which I will elaborate on later on. Because the issue isn't too long, I'll just state my complaints and then get to what I found interesting. 1) How the artist draws Darth Vader's helmet and Stormtrooper helmets. They aren't too bad, but they aren't as nice as they are in the Darth Vader series, and sometimes they seem just off. 2) The sequence involving the escape from the weapons factory was downright confusing, and could have been fixed by simply adding a couple panels portraying Luke escaping to the Falcon and Vader and Overseer Aggadeen escaping the explosion. Now, to what I found interesting. Spoilers follow. Spoiler Vader knows the boy is the one who blew up the Death Star. This establishes the beginning of Vader's quest to find, and train, Luke (although he doesn't know his name, nor does he know he is his son, I imagine when he learns of this we'll see quite a terrible tantrum). As previously mentioned, this ties in with Darth Vader #1, as in that issue Vader hires Boba Fett to track down Luke, who Vader now knows is the pilot who destroyed the Death Star. This adds to the reader's understanding of Darth Vader #1, as at that time we were not aware that Vader sought to train the destroyer of the Death Star. Assorted things I found interesting and/or cool: New Imperial vehicles! A cool speeder, which Vader later pilots, and what looks like an Imperial successor to the CIS AAT Vader taking down an AT-AT Vader requisitioning a speeder Vader being a badass again. Well, thus ends my review of Star Wars #3! Darth Vader #3 releases on March 25th, I'm even more excited for that one.

Always be sure to let your appearance speak for itself. Let a girl know what you have in mind with your clothing alone, this is especially important regarding headgear.

Given the tragic death of Mr. Spock, we must remember other actors who may fall.
After Ford finishes the new Star Wars trilogy and the Blade Runner sequel, we have to put both him, and Clint Eastwood into cryogenic suspension. It's the only way.

Today, the second issue of Marvel's Darth Vader comic book series released, and once again, I am impressed. I've never been a big comic book guy, but Marvel has me hooked. For the first time, I'm actually keeping up with comics. This issue focused more on action than #1, but it set the stage for later developments. The issue focused primarily on the rather strained relationship between now-Grand General Tagge and Vader. For those who don't know, here's a summary of the story so far: Spoiler Prior to and during the time of A New Hope, Vader isn't the Supreme Commander of The Imperial Fleet like he is in TESB, his limits are defined by Palpatine at any given point, explaining why Vader takes orders from Tarkin in ANH. Because of his failure to protect the Death Star, the Emperor has decided to punish Vader by making him even more subservient, having him take orders from now Grand General Tagge., who was opposed to the Death Star in the first place and left the station before it was destroyed, and is rewarded for his foresight with a promotion to the previously mentioned position. The comic series, essentially, is about how Vader rises to his position in TESB, and how he figures out Luke is his son. Tagge is much less of a Romantic than Vader or Tarkin, and derides the amount of resources out into the Death Star, resources that could've been put to better use building Star Destroyers. Furthermore, as Tagge is now Vader's superior, he treats Vader in a way Vader quite clearly resents, having him perform tasks Vader deems quite menial, and even assigning him an adjutant to observe him and keep Tagge informed of his activities. But, I'm giving too much away. Now, to the quality of the comic. For the most part, it's fantastic. The dialogue is spot on, and the action scenes are done very well. The way Vader deals with his assigned observer is simultaneously funny and badass. My only complaint is the art, but only in certain panels and only in regards to one subject: Original Trilogy characters. All the faceless, helmeted, or non-human characters look great, and the human characters not appearing in the movies look fine. It's just the likeness of actors that looks bad at times. In this issue it was just Tagge. He looks just as he does in the movie at times, but others it's just... Off. I think the lack of shading is one of the main problems, but I'm pretty sure that his face has been traced by the artist. Outside of this, the art and the comic as a whole is great. Later, when I'm at my computer, I'll provide some images of some of the panels, as examples of what I've spoken of. However, I must recommend reading both issues released thus far, if you love Star Wars, you'll love this series.
