Nah. Since everyone is a liar, relaxing social conventions puts less of an emphasis on being honest. Sure, but nothing you described here is exclusive to the Internet—people aren't uncomfortable with lying in person, and you'd be incredibly naive to believe otherwise. The movie Liar Liar tends to highlight just how often the average joe tends to lie on a day-to-day basis, notwithstanding the Internet.

You could try to argue that the Internet makes it easier, and I wouldn't disagree, but I would argue that just because it's easier doesn't mean it's more frequent. It's just streamlined, I guess.

I also think there are more "absolute sticklers on honesty" than you choose to acknowledge, but that's speculative.

Either way, my mind is pretty much decided on this subject. Not to sound arrogant, but there's pretty much no chance of you changing my mind—you seem to be arguing from personal opinion, whereas I'm arguing from what I'd consider to be facts of reality. All rooted in what I believe to be the ultimate form of communication.
