Just Dance, for a more recent example, isn't a dudebro game. Neither is Tribes: Ascend (although it did attract a lot of memester idjits).
Simple/casual shooters with "deep" (like a bathtub) mechanics are the defining factors of dudebro games. Halo fits it, as does Battlefield, and CoD. Quake has a 90* learning curve, it's too "hardcore" to be a dudebro game. Quake Live even got a small resurgence a few months back, and it quickly died again because the new players left after getting their asses handed to them with a 0% success rate. I'm gonna let you in on something. I've actually never played Quake.

FPS and Sports are the dudebro games of choice, yes. That doesn't mean that there aren't non-dudebro games in the audience; I wouldn't exactly call Quake or DDR dudebro games. Sure, but I think that's just because they're all... old, and... out of style. If Quake saw a resurgence, I could see it regressing to that label. Maybe.

24fps isn't a problem with framerate, it's a problem with the refresh rate on a TV. If a TV refreshes at 60Hz, that means you're actively missing frames if it isn't a flat number divisible by 60 like 20, 30, or (duh) 60. Oh. Well, okay then. I forgot that was even a thing.

Not being a better experience, not a negligible difference. It's not witty if you don't make properly answer it.  Well, when you say "not better", that makes me think "worse," for some reason. Which would have meant that it's not negligible. But clearly, it's not negligible to them, if they can even make the distinction. So my point still stands--I can't possibly imagine 24fps being worse than 60fps, let alone 30. I'd settle for 20, for crying out loud. I'm sure the game played just fine.
