I turn 21 on Monday.

I'm terrified of becoming an alcoholic.
what's terrifying about something that's so easy to avoid

Hey! Welcome to Sep7. We have a meme thread. Please give likes.
Thank you idk if I’m replying properly too ppl is this how you do it by quoting? Because when I reply it just shows at bottom of thread
yeah quoting is the way to go, because that's what notifies people

every time you edit a post, it notifies everyone in the quote string, too, so beware of that

4203
i wonder if this is a common thing for gaming websites, i've never seen or heard anything like it

i think i might just go ahead and trade the abra, honestly

after what happened with whitney last time, it'll be extremely satisfying to just one-shot everything with machop

i won't be entirely missing out on a powerful psychic-type, either, since i plan on evolving the eevee into an espeon

Well that's the official term yes.
not for you

a teetotaler doesn't just stop being a teetotaler

they don't give up when somebody doesn't like them

how the fuck do you not understand what alcohol does to you

and you called yourself a "teetotaler"

all right, so i'm not sure what just happened tbh

after i removed all of my other contacts to ensure that arnie calls me as much as possible to let me know about yanma outbreaks, he finally does it

so i rush over there, and because i was training my venonat at the time, i decided to use venonat's sweet scent to get the encounter, just for a bit of fun or something, not thinking it would actually make any real difference

my encounter wound up being an abra, which meant either of two things:
1. bulbapedia is wrong, and yanma outbreaks in crystal do not revert the route's encounter table back to g/s
2. using sweet scent to get the encounter was a mistake, because it may have prematurely ended the outbreak

so i searched and searched for yanma for about the normal duration of an outbreak, which is 30 real-time minutes

never found one, so my running hypothesis atm is that using sweet scent like a retard actually fucks everything up, but the only way for me to verify this is to test it once again (meaning i have to wait for another outbreak)

but i mean, whatever, at least i got a pretty solid encounter out of it

fortunately, since i lead with gastly, i was able to use mean look to prevent it from teleporting away, making it the cleanest and most efficient abra capture i've ever had

do i trade it for a machop, though? i know i said earlier that i wasn't going to do that, but now that i actually have one, and i don't really have any other offensive options against whitney, i'm actually starting to consider that as an option

gonna try something unorthodox

i used to not fear whitney as much as the average person, but since i experienced a literal full-team wipe against her in my silverlocke, i'm not gonna fuck around with her anymore

in gold/silver, you had a 60% chance of finding a nidoran of either gender on route 35, just north of goldenrod city, which learns double kick, making it useful in-theory vs. whitney (especially if you find a male one)

but in crystal, this route's encounter table was overhauled, and now you can only find nidoran in national park

HOWEVER, according to bulbapedia, when a yanma outbreak occurs in crystal, not only does this make yanma easier to find, it also seems to revert the route's encounter table back to how it used to be in gold/silver—which, assuming this isn't an error on bulbapedia's part, makes it possible to find nidoran on the route again

so as i train cleffa, i'm just riding around, waiting for bug catcher arnie to call me about a yanma outbreak

it's either that, or i try to go for the 10% abra encounter (for the machop trade)

if it doesn't work and bulbapedia is inaccurate, then at least i'll have done it for science

Odd Egg hatched; got a Cleffa. Neat.

No shiny, though.
Can it learn the elemental punches?
as soon as she evolves, yeah

boosting friendship is so slow in gen 2, though, with no good ways to farm it

at least in crystal, they made it so happiness gained via level up is doubled if you're training in the area where you first met, so i've been taking note of that (fortunately, both the eggs hatched while in the forest)

RIP Wooper. After the rival's Quilava burned him with Ember, a random critical hit (that did WAAAY more damage than I was expecting) took him out. 1 in 160 chance for that to happen, so I can't be too mad about it, but that still sucks.

Headbutted a couple trees and caught two Aipom, a male and a female with nearly identical stats. Aipom's dex entry includes the word "another," so I decided to name my second one that.

While training Venonat in Ilex Forest, which has been a relatively slow process, she managed to miss Tackle three straight times, which is pretty incredible. That in itself is a 1 in 8000 chance. And then after finally hitting, she proceeded to miss a fourth time right after. I have a feeling she's gonna make it far on this team.

Got the Odd Egg, but it'll be awhile before it hatches. I don't like running around for the sole purpose of egg hatching, and prefer to let things happen naturally. Pretty excited about what it'll hatch into, though, especially if it's Tyrogue, but there's pretty much nothing it could hatch into that I would be disappointed with.

Got the Diskun trophy in Melee, which basically requires you to do and unlock every stupid little thing in the game you could imagine.

100%ed Majora's Mask without using guides, found all 120 shrines in BotW without using guides.

Had the patience to beat Zelda II on two separate occasions.

Made it back about to where I was. Much cooler encounters this time, including a Wooper and a Venonat, which is pretty nice. I actually kind of feel a little cheap about that, but it's fine. I wound up sacrificing Lapras in Union Cave by testing to see if I could collect every item without running out my single Repel, but that didn't work out at all. Encountered a Zubat; RIP Lapras.

I forgot that they added extra puzzles to the Ruins of Alph, which is something I really appreciate. Now I just wish they'd give a greater purpose to Unown.

this is a thing that you can do?

what the fuck
you don't know how contacts work in a phone?
i don't know how anything works on a phone

silly humans
you save the person's phone number under a contact and you write their name in
i figured, i'm just confounded that it lets you do such a thing

i don't get to decide people's names or usernames on literally anything else, so

especially when it's such a volatile thing
