Make him immortal, and make it so every moment of his life is a perpetual gauntlet of the most excruciating pain ever. It would escalate exponentially for every millisecond you exist, so that you would never get used to it or grow numb to it. It would never peak--it would worsen every single day for all eternity (you would live and be fully conscious through the inevitable heat death of the universe, which would feel like a light breeze in comparison to the pain). We'd see how much you'd want to exist then. That would be my punishment for anyone stupid enough to say, "I'd take any amount of pain over nonexistence." 32830

that's kinda like saying it's okay to break someone's leg as long as you hospitalize them afterwards, and promise never to do it again after they've convalesced it's like... OR, you could not break his leg in first place, you insane cunt 32835

While I don't nominally disagree with the whole "consent is everything" mantra, I do believe that it's possible to violate consent if only the cost-benefit analysis of the imposition tends towards a net gain. Any person--no matter who they are--should be willing to sacrifice themselves for a million others. Your "sovereign individual rights" come second when others are involved.
To think otherwise is solipsistic and... kinda selfish and evil. We don't live in a vacuum. 32841

My question in regards to what my family does.I guess there's nothing I see that I'd consider reprehensible on any moral level. I dunno, it's a funny circumstance--not one I can really relate to, either. You do what you can, and if there's anything you do that could be considered unethical, you do your best to make the most of it. I don't see a problem, really, but Pendulate might be able to find something wrong, because nothing is right with him. 32849
