You're above playing such a trash game.
Or maybe not :O
DS1 PVP is pretty much dead for me. I recently tried it again and managed to get 2 fights in an hour and a half. If it was still active enough for me to go and invade randoms on, I'd be back in a heart beat. But I gotta do something to hold me over until DS3 comes out.
What system are you on?
Xbox 360 is still active.
360 here too. Tried to invade in Burg, Kiln, Township and ran around the forest with the ring on for a bit. Not many results.

Alright, update #1. I decided not to try both simultaneously and take Sandtrap's advice: first a no death run, then a no bonfire run in NG+. My starting class is the bandit and starting item is the healing wares due to their usefulness in the start. I started off killing Maughlin for his Tseldora robes (increased amount of souls per kill) and headed for Heide's tower of flame. Sprinted past everything and took on the Dragonrider. I messed up the cheese that causes him to fall off the stage and die, but still managed to kill him. After leveling up adaptability and vigor, I headed for the Forest of Fallen Giants. Again, I ran past everything and got to the bonfire without many issues. Took the long way around to loot what I could find (most importantly, Majula Mansion key and an estus flask shard) and killed the Last Giant along with a summoned NPC. First time I broke a sweat at this boss. I leveled up some more, summoned a player and used the lockstone from the Majula basement to get the cloranthy ring. Went to take on the pursuer who killed my summoned friend in just two hits. I almost died at one point but still, victory over the pursuer. Traveled to the Lone Tower, picked up the silver ring and bought some weapons at the smith. I farmed some dogs and other enemies to get some souls and level up my weapons some more.
Current situation: sitting in McDuff's workshop, ready but nervous to take on the Ruin Sentinels. Current level: 35 with 15 STR, DEX and ADP. Wielding an estoc +6 and a mace +6. Here's to hoping I don't die now.

You people really need to find someone who knows what they're doing to get your philosophy and message across.
I think she did about as well as she needed to. She just tries too hard to make it "entertaining," or something, because people, with their short attention spans, need some form of entertainment to keep them interested in anything--especially when the philosophy seems so counterintuitive.
Obviously, she went overboard in that department. But I don't think that should detract from the message.
It shouldn't but it does. And I wasn't just talking about her. I was more referring to the movement as a whole.

Also, you don't neccessarily have to get both rings in one run. A deathless run is much easier if you can still use bonfires. Emergency teleporting is a thing after all.
And likewise, a no bonfire run, while being an immense hassle if you die, is still doable.
Yeah, I figured. Probably gonna start no bonfire / no deaths but if things go awry I'll just continue as just a no bonfire run and do the no death part on NG+.
No death run takes more presidence over bonfires. No death runs quickly become impossible on New Game +
You think? I'd say no death would be easier on NG+. Fully upgraded weapons and armor, high enough endurance to roll with high defense, different (great)shields for every occasion, 12 estus +7, 99 lifegems, feather for unlimited teleports, buffs and healing miracles? Seems to me that all of that would be a great help for no death. The main benefit for no bonfire would just be that you have a lot of weapons to switch between and avoid some getting broken, which can be solved pretty easily by using repair powders or just breaking them against a wall so the smith can repair it for you. Unless I'm missing it something, it sounds like NG+ would help no death more than no bonfire. Only big downside woud be that the risks of dying are even higher. A death in NG would just be a restart while a death in NG+ would mean starting over from scratch or going all the way to NG++ for another attempt.

You really gotta know your shit that's for sure. You're gonna need a lot of souls for supplies like repair powder or maybe even some magic repair spell. I'd reccommend wearing anything and everything that nets your more souls because equipment is going to be your mainstay.
You need to know bosses and their elemental weaknesses because the less time they have on the field equals the less chance you have of being dead. Skip all the optional bosses. Cheese everything with a bow or knives and save your main weapon for the bosses or situations you deem it's needed.
And don't take any unneccessary risks. That's the most important. NONE. This is a playthrough where you play with extreme caution. If you get into a situation that you think you can't handle, back off. Stock up on life gems big time.
I'd reccommend putting a lot of points into health and using rings to boost your health.
Yeah, I'll be doing all of that. Gonna finish my normal playthrough first, though. I'm going for all achievements and still need like 15 sunlight medals. Fuck that.

Those playthroughs require so much cheesing that you might as well just dupe souls and savescum.
No dupe glitch in SoTFS (that I know of) and not a whole lot of savescumming you can really do. But yeah, they would be a cheesefest. I might just do them in two runs and wear Agape to stay low on soul memory.

Time to get myself those two illusory rings in one run. Anyone ever done this before? Tips and advice are always welcome. Updates coming soon.

Huh, I've never actually seen the word populist being used in that way. I always figured it just had the same meaning as it does in Dutch, but I guess you learn something new every way.
I think you're right in your assessment though. I do see and support the merits of the establishment to a reasonable extent.

If you compare the US special forces to others, we look scary as fuck. Eh, what? Why on earth would US special forces look more scary? Look at the Danish frogmen for example. Look at this shit. That's the stuff of nightmares.

Why is everything a competition with you when America is mentioned?
"American special forces look scary"
"WHAT!?!?
SO DO THESE OTHER GUYS!"
Calm down dude.
Unlike your comment, I am a shining beacon of calmness right now. BC literally said "if you compare America to...", so I responded appropriately. The US has great special forces, but they don't look particularly scary. Other special forces might not be as well trained, but they aim for scariness and intimidation like the Danes. No need to get your panties in a bunch.

Dark Souls 1 was overall better, but there were a few things in Dark Souls 2 they did right, such as replacing the kick with the poise break for the shield. Discourages someone always holding it up. Same with backstabs I think.
Truth. DS2 improved on many things. Instant invasions, ladder controls, shield break, better weapon upgrading, warping and so forth. Disagreed on the backstabs though. Two-step backstabs are not as fun and have considerable downsides. You miss a backstab in DS1 due to latency? You just swing in the air (or even cancel it right away) and nothing happens. Same scenario in DS2? Your character does the slow and exaggerated swipe/grab move in thin air which completely prevents you from moving while your opponent can do whatever. I'm glad they're going back to the old system for DS3.

Dark Souls 2 is trash. We don't speak of that game here.
Soul memory and the lack of a full red eye orb. Why, From?
and the addition of poise was bad
But didn't poise fix the massive stunlock problem that I hear plagued DS1?
Stunlocking in DS1 wasn't that bad, if I remember correctly. Heavy weapons used a ton of stamina and pushed you further away with every strike, allowing you to roll away after two hits every time. They patched the initial stunlock madness pretty quickly, I believe. Plus, there's always toggle escaping for the better players. Still better system than DS2 though. Actual poise breakpoints and consistent application was top tier. DS2 used to be random and inconsistent with full havels getting stunned by light weapons 2H.

I preferred DS1 poise but DS2 has been patched so much that it's really not that bad anymore.

There's literally a 50 foot tall woman with 100 pound knockers ushering you into a palace of soft pillows and heavenly music after you get past her fuck boys.
Actual spoilers:
Spoiler Till you accidentally hit the RB, kill her. Find out she was an illusion and the fucktwat little brother created her.
Be wary of trap.

This is going to turn into a saga to rival Roman's, isn't it?
Yeah, but his would be the prequel trilogy.
My money is on him realising he actually fancies Chad somewhere down the line. Now that would be a twist.
