I thought you didn't have internet
Hotspot on my phone. Good for surfing and playing. Not downloading. Data cap at 6gb. So really, I dont have internet.
I don't get why you don't just get internet, I know it's expensive in the US but it's not THAT expensive is it?
It all depends on your most important bills. Also availability. The one I want is like $40 a month and then after a year, that price goes up.
Then why don't you look for a less expensive plan, any internet is better than no internet, here you can get unlimited (albeit a little slow) internet for £5 a month (+line rental)
These people are the only ones here. Satilite and going with ppl like At&t is even more expensive and they have data caps.
Where are you in America anyways?
South East Texas. I had great internet before I moved out. Butbits scarce in my mew area.
Keep looking for good deals I guess then

The X1 VR will do better, ironically due to the other device mentioned, you have the VR but what the Kinect gives you is superior head tracking and of course the ability to have you (or just your hands) in the game, a fully immersive experience.

Wouldn't surprise me if that was their plan all along actually

Halo, purely through time on bnet, here and through playing the games and reading some of the books. Although i'm alright with Metro lore as well

Halo books

And, although technically they are not video game books because it was the books that spawned the games, the Metro series

Don't encourage them to make Platoon in video game form, it wouldn't do it justice
Infinity Ward could do it.
"press x to whine"
If Infinity Ward still existed, the entire dev team left, the current IW is only Infinity Ward in name. Activision has killed IW
You missed both jokes in one post. Good job.
The sarcasm and the lack of an ability to tell a story ("press x"), which was Platoon's strong point.

I got them

Gaming / Re: So when is the Halo 5 BTB beta releasing?
« on: January 04, 2015, 07:03:33 PM »

Not sure, 343 have said that the current beta is just for arena MP, the fact they have specified that indicates there'll be a beta for BTB as well. Tbh I suspect they are going to have 16v16 BTB like Battlefield, two birds one stone really if they decide to make BTB something to really shout about as well as a fan favourite
With the power of the Xbone I see no reason why it would be 8v8. The only thing they have to two is have another BTB playlist that's 8v8 for the older fans.
Exactly, 16v16 isn't over the top and I think bigger maps would suit Halo, ffs that was the exact thing that was so unique about Halo CE when it was first shown, the fact the maps in the campaign were so open
Bigger maps would suit Halo. To me the vehicle combat in Halo is greatly hindered due to the size of the maps. With the flying vehicles you don't have much space, the maps that have the Warthogs feel to clustered for them. And the Scorpion feels out of place. Reach does have Forge World but that maps is too linear and tight.

For the CE thing you are correct about that. The first and last level are linear but they still feel open due to the size of the spaces. For the first level I love that you can freely walk the bridge and see them working. I love that you see the crewman going to different stations. The Halo level you're able to go to the other two or three objectives in any order. The level after that you can skip an area if you're fast enough to get behind the door. Each level to the game like you said are open or at least have that feeling to them. To me they don't have that much of a feeling you're walking down a liner path. They're open enough to hinder that feeling.
Exactly, there is nothing limiting Halo anymore, the Xbox One is capable of running any larger maps, the servers are capable of supporting more people and the Halo universe is totally open now that 343 is no longer tied to any particular location or enemy, they have free rein to be creative and finally do something unique, especially now that they've shown they can get the Arena MP right. Breakout is absolutely fantastic and there is clear talent when it comes to map design (the remixes of Empire and Truth are superb)

Tea must have milk in it, unless it's green/herbal tea. Tea+milk=cuppa, a cuppa should always be made with teabags or tea leaves but only when using a teapot. Herbal/green tea is not everyday stuff, it should not be consumed like you would consume regular cuppas.
And why not?
Because it's special, and overconsumption can have adverse effects on your digestion.
Not so far. I drink about six or eight a day.
Well, that still leaves (pun intended) the fact that it's far more expensive and just isn't as warming and IMO simply not as nice as a cuppa
Healthier.
Not if you are missing out all that extra calcium and overdosing on caffeine, which you would be if you drank 8 cups a day
I get calcium with my cheese and coffee, tea is for health.
Normal tea gives you calcium and health

Halo 5: Evasion. Can't sprint when your shields are down would solve this like others have said. Thrusting to escape is enough. Everything becomes a game of cat and mouse.
Just like in Halo 1-3, if both opponents are skilled
No it's not.  You couldn't boost in H1-3 nor did you have to lower your weapon to keep up with someone running away.
I was referring to it being like cat and mouse, Halo has always had the unique trait of requiring chess-like movements and tactics and the fact the general conflict is comprised of many 1v1s that are generally in a cat and mouse style rather than a head-on all-guns-blazing type thing (Cod)

Halo pre Reach was never cat and mouse.
It is to an extent, certainly a lot more so than any other game. Halo can be a little chesslike, most of the difficulty is in positioning and movement rather than actually firing your weapon
I disagree, but say let's just pretend you're right.  Increased mobility provided by sprint and thruster only exacerbate this then because now the flee-er can move faster than the attacker since the attacker has to lower their weapon to keep up with the fleeing person.
And that makes positioning and timing all the more important, plus the fact the map designs allow for the chaser to take a second route and cut them off, because of the addition of boost and clamber

On a scale of Halo 4 to Halo 2, how is Halo 5's gameplay?
Halo 2.75

Only way you could compare it to H4 would be sprint's existence (which is a must really)
Why?
Why is it a must?

Because Halo must have it, not necessarily because it's worse with no sprint-it isn't.  Every other FPS has sprint,
Copying what's popular is a petty reason to add a feature.
With that same logic, why not remove shields too since every other modern game doesn't have shields? People expect games to have no shields, sprint, clamber, ADS, kill cams, and the screen to flash blood red when shot.

Quote
it has gotten to the point where sprint is as core a control aspect as using the triggers to shoot is,

That doesn't really make sense as an analogy, comparing the need for a popular mechanic with a button on a controller doing what it was designed to do.

Quote
the MCC is living proof that the lack of sprint just feels very outdated-even without any knowledge it would be immediate despite no major graphical difference that H2A is a far older game than H4.
Out of all the complaint threads on waypoint I haven't seen one complaining about any of the halo's playing slow.  I've heard people on here and my myself voice Halo 3 feels slower than it should, but that's because Bungie lowered the field of view, decreased movement acceleration, and made it slower; something that could have been fixed in a newer release.  Can you show me a poll or something besides personal opinion that people think H2A feels older than Halo 4?

Quote
Point is it must retain sprint in order to stay relevant, the series must adapt.
I'd rather Halo be a trend setter than trying to follow in the foot steps of every generic modern shooter.  I've never heard any say "Man, I really wanted to by this game, but it didn't have sprint!  Can you believe that?  The game might as well be 20 years old.  Forget everything else it offers.

Quote
Perhaps in 10 years not having sprint will be the norm, and I expect that if that happens 343 will drop sprint because it's not something expected of a modern game.
So it's essentially a gimmick and 343 suffers from keeping up with Joneses.
Play a few games of the beta without sprinting and see what you think of it.
Without sprinting in the beta you can survive, but your offensive capabilities are drastically handicapped.

Many other games have shields, Halo is far from an exception.

I'm forced to play Halo with those that are uninitiated, I have a lot of family and friends that either have no knowledge of Halo or extremely little knowledge. And those people struggle in H1-3, constantly moaning how there is no sprint, and about how much "better" every other FPS is because it includes it. That's the average gamer right now, that's 9/10 people, immediately when I reluctantly put H4 on instead suddenly i'm hearing things like "this game is amazing", purely because they can now sprint. And using Waypoint as an example is astonishingly stupid, they represent the 1%, and the site itself just wipes away any credibility.. You are using two Halo communities as an example, so the responses will naturally be biased towards hating sprint, and what i'm saying is that the majority of gamers see sprint as something essential in a modern FPS.
People are spoiled fucks
I know,that's what i've been saying
