Are you seriously going to let one game ruin a series for you?

It didn't ruin it, the old ones are still great. Just sucks to see it end this way. So much hype and buildup, then splat.

9933
yeeee never getting to play

looks awesome as usual

i really like that knight armor this time around

You didn't like the other knight armors? D:

9934
Also, Dark Souls 3 has a lot of Dark Souls 1 animations, but it also looks a little too fast for me. I can't help but feel Miyazaki just feels he HAS to bring in Bloodborne mechanics, which annoys me. That game's PVP/PVE vs other hunters, was fuck awful.

I was hoping you would be able to play it fast paced or slow and methodical, whichever works better for you.

I never followed the story of Dark Souls 2

All I know is I sat on a throne

Dark Souls 2's story was:

Talk to some old women and jump into a whirlpool, for some reason.
Talk to the Emerald Herald and find a cure for your undead curse, for some reason.
Go kill some scary monsters because you can't climb over some rubble
Kill the final boss, for reasons.
Sit on the throne.

3 is going to be fiiinee

Sounds very similar to the Old Dragonslayer theme in DS2

Man I really don't know how I feel about the series now. I love the older ones but MGSV and all the Konami shit just keeps gnawing at the back of my mind.

9939
So I haven't really been keeping up, are you proper getting into the roleplay aspect of it, or just playing it like it's a videogame? I mean are you actually making the decisions that you as a character would make in universe, and all that kind of stuff. I like to really get into it, set up an organized home base, arrange all my stuff neatly and not just chuck it in a big pile
i'm really getting into it, yeah--every choice i make is a choice i would've made irl (to my best judgment)

the hardest thing about that so far is that, if i so happen to die, it's like... the biggest immersion killer ever

so i'll try not to ever die

It doesn't break the immersion for me that much. I save pretty much everywhere so I see it as some kind of groundhog day reset.

9940
Quite a few people think The Dancer of the Frigid Valley is Ciaran.

Ehh, I doubt it. Hope not. Come up with something new. I'm okay with throwing in a few references in there here and there.

9941
I'm skeptical after Dark Souls II. But seeing as how Miyazaki didn't acknowledge it as much, it does give me some hope.

Miyazaki is working on it, I have hope. Not gonna get overhyped but I'm optimistic.

9942
Fine I got rid of the date. I'll start counting down when we get closer k

9943
This is getting ridiculous, tbh.

1 month before seems okay, but half a year? Seems a little overboard.

Well I felt like making a big Dark Souls thread, and I put the date there for convenience. Don't see any issues.

Man you're gonna need a lot of quotes.

Tbf I'm not gonna change it daily lol

9946
also fuck you i'll go hollow if i want to

fuck whoever said that

Hollow is the mindless state where you aren't yourself anymore.

Not trying to be condescending, just making sure you know that it's different to being just undead in DS.

« on: October 21, 2015, 12:00:46 PM »

Everyone else is doing it so I thought I'd join in. Dark Souls 3 releases on the 24th of March 2016. I'm really looking forward to it. Hope it's better than DS2. I'll update this thread more as I go along.

Collector's edition

So uhh... yeah. Discuss Dark Souls.

Were are you now fam
Hiding in Springvale as I wait for Megaton's people to get over themselves.

Why do you need to hide? You could explore and scavenge somewhere a bit further on then come back

Fuck, I'm behind in the Vader comics.

I’m as corny as Kansas in August,
High as a flag on the Fourth of July!
If you’ll excuse an expression I use,
I’m in love, I’m in love,
I’m in love, I’m in love,
I’m in love with a wonderful guy!

Ooh, Kylo Ren isn't wearing his helmet in the snowy forest.

Kind of disappointed Adam Diver is what he looks like under the mask. I wanted a RoTJ-esque reveal of his face.

He kinda reminds me of a white Dev Patel

A New Hope > Empire Strikes Back > Return of the Jedi > Revenge of the Sith > The Phantom Menace > Attack of the Clones

My favorite is A New Hope because despite all the production problems they still managed to make a great movie that still doesn't show its age. A nice simple adventure movie, boy meets girl and friends, defeats bad guys, gets a nice medal.

I think everything that I could say about Empire has already been said. Still love it though.

Jedi was good, just had a few flaws like Jabba being boring and the Ewoks.

Sith wasn't terrible, it had some good scenes. The Lightsaber fights that WEREN'T Obi Wan vs Anakin were fucking terrible though. Ian Mcdiarmid looked like he was doing a slapstick routine with it, and the Jedi sent to arrest him were awful.

Phantom Menace isn't great but it's still watchable. Doesn't bother me that much. Has a nice fight at the end.

Attack of the Clones was terrible, I even hated it as a kid.

There's a reason people prefer the originals. It's not just because it's the cool thing to do, it's because they are generally accepted as being the better made movies.
You liked ANH the most too?

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEEEE
Yeh everything is awesome in it. The music, the characters, everything. I mean ESB is bigger with a grander scale and more stuff going on and that's awesome but Hope is just more enjoyable to me.

i don't really care that much

i just fail to see how them being siblings lowers the quality of the movie

I don't think it ruins it at all. Made way more sense for her and Han to end up together, the only thing that I didn't like about ROTJ were the Ewoks, but whatever
