Make sure you use a Poke Ball or it doesn't count.

Fuck no I saved up a Master Ball for this. I think I would have had a heart attack if I didn't get it.

Out of any game, film, series, fandom, whatever, what has the most annoying fans, do you think?

I used to think MLP but I BARELY see that anymore. I find LOTR fans quite irritating, mainly the ones who look down on you for reading anything but LOTR.

Nothing right now. I might just read another Goosebumps book for the sake of entertainment value. I got some that I haven't even read yet.

Still, nothing else right now as far as books go grabs my interest.
Daily reminder that this post infers that Deci is more capable of appreciating literature than Verbatim is.

Honestly if it wasn't for Goosebumps back in the 90s when I was like 5-6 years old, I would have never been interested in reading everything. I would have never really learned, but Goosebumps encouraged me to read, it caught my eye with its artwork and it really wanted me to know what it was about.

I read other books as I got older such as Lord of The Flies, The Old Man and The Sea, hell I even got Of Mice and Men in my collection. The other 2 I borrowed.

One book that I read in high school and was actually a challenge to do a paper on it later was one flew over the cuckoo's nest, but I read it. The entire book.

And honestly I liked to book more than the movie. Same can be said with Lord of The Flies.

So when I feel disinterested, I fall back to my childhood roots on where I began reading.

It's nice having a nice easy read isn't it? I like going back to Harry Potter/ A Series of Unfortunate Events sometimes.

You know I never finished reading A Series of Unfortunate Events all the way through, but I plan to one of these days. That's the second book series that motivated me to keep reading. I still have The Bad Beginning and I own the movie. Oddly enough Harry Potter didn't really capture my interest as much.

But Goosebumps, god I was obsessed with those as a child, and I partly still am from time to time. It became more than a book, more of a novelty. I don't know how other kids imagined how the story played out, but for me it was always a lot darker than intended, and fortunately there is one Goosebumps book that is that dark, at least too dark for a kid, that I proudly have in my collection. It never got reprinted so the first print version is all that exists. Its called I live in your basement.

The way how I imagined it is what kept me reading.

The movie was terrible, the books are way good. Especially the later one. The story really goes places.

Honestly I enjoyed the movie, even though it was okay at best. I just wish it wasn't so rushed and the characters and story in the movie had more time to develop.

But I consider the movie to be a different version from the book. But yeah, the last book I read was probably book 11, but I need a complete refresher since I haven't read them in awhile.

They're doing a Netflix series now, so that's ok. Hopefully they don't fuck up Olaf again.

The audiobooks are good too, they've got Tim Curry

I actually can't wait to see the Netflix series. Jim Carry was an okay Olaf in my opinion, but it is true that Olaf is suppose to be someone we dislike, and Jim Carry did the opposite. Honestly Jim Carry is someone I would have wanted Count Olaf to be, but.... yeah.

Count Olaf is a fucking animal, I think Jim Carry had the potential to actually be an evil bastard in the movie, BUT thanks to executives at Nickelodeon Movies, and the director, he couldn't do that.

Then don't read fiction. Read a book about something that actually happened. Just because the rest of us like to read fiction doesn't mean you have to.

And why do you keep using italics in nearly every post of yours now? You're confusing.
Italics are used to emphasize words to help stress a point. I use the all the time.

That doesn't really help you out though. It just makes you look even more foolish.

Yeah it wasn't a bad performance acting wise, but Olaf wasn't the despicable cunt he is in the books. Kinda wish I'd got to hear his version of Olaf's new laugh from The Grim Grotto though lol

That's why I mainly try to do things that won't really bother anyone else, and mainly for my own entertainment or interest.

Isn't that itself just a challenge? I mean, what if it does bother someone?

The objective of the game is to empty your opponent's deck of all their Member Cards. You may have up to  8 cards in your hand at any time. You may draw a card every turn if you don't have 8, but if your hand is full then you may not draw another card.

Member Cards

Member cards all have two stats:
Argumentation (ARG)
Rage Threshold (RT)

You may have up to 5 Member cards on your side of the field at any time. In addition, every Member card will have some sort of effect that you can activate when you bring them on to the field (AKA Logging in). This will range from buffing other cards, to getting rid of certain opposing cards. Member cards may also choose to jump in the way of an attack that is directed at another card, taking the damage instead. This is known as a 'Flame Shield' and the foe's attack will do an extra 10% damage to the Flame Shield user.

In order to defeat an opposing Member card you must reduce their RT to 0.

Members come in three levels:

-User
-Mod (Mods can lock and unlock threads at will. Performing this action takes up the mod's turn, however so do so at your own risk)
-Architects (Cannot be damaged by Incident cards with the exception of cards that affect everyone at once. They may only attack once every other turn.)

There are two different types of user, Shitposter and Quality Poster. I will go into this in more detail in the Thread Card section below.

Thread Cards
Thread Cards function similarly to Lands from MTG, with which you can play them to give yourself a bit of a boost. Thread Cards will provide you with a different way to play, though creating a Thread will have both a Positive and a Negative side effect, so choose carefully. Mod cards and Admin cards can lock Threads on sight, so be prepared.

Thread Cards come in two different flavors: Shitposting and Quality Discussion . When a Shitposting Thread is played, Shitposting-based cards will be able to activate their powers. If a Quality Discussion Thread is active, they will not.

In addition, there a special Thread cards that you may play when the right conditions are met. For instance, there is an Incident card called #gaming, which turns your Quality Discussion thread into a Gaming thread. From there, you may turn your Gaming thread into a specific game thread, provided you have the correct card, eg. 'Fallout Thread' card.

Incident Cards

Incident Cards are your typical 'spell' card, where you can perform a certain action on your turn. They range from disrupting enemy cards to buffing your own. You can only play one per turn, and you can even play certain Incident cards during your opponent's turn, to mess with them at the last minute.

There is a special type of Incident card called a 'Grand Entrance' with which you may call forth a special 'Grand'  Member card with advanced abilities and stats, with each Grand Entrace card requiring a different method of activation. You may only have one Grand Member on the field at a time.

Just finished Metro 2034, started Harlequin a couple of days ago but as usual with bernard cornwell books I'm already halfway through it.

I could probably get through every sharpe book in less than a month tbh, it's just such gripping reading e.e

Warlord chronicles, I read them in high school and couldn't remember the names of the books. Thank you so much for mentioning Bernard.

If you liked the Derfel stories you should read the Uhtred ones

Never heard of this series. It seems pretty long; is it worth getting into?
I would say so

The sharpe series is set in the Napoleonic era, following the titular character across most of the big battles and events that happened during the peninsular war <.<

You've got chronological and print order, chrono is probably best because it starts off with sharpe in india as an infantryman and it explains how he rose up from the ranks to an NCO, then an ensign and so on.

If you like that time period, redcoats vs bluecoats vs greencoats and big old sieges etc then I'd highly recommend it. It's great military historical-fiction and the author puts a lot of effort into his research too, with a footnotes section to explain where he took liberties <.<

If that's not to your taste, he's got a few different series too Medieval (Grail quests) and Saxon era stuff iirc, but I haven't read a single one of his books that has disappointed me >.>

The books are all pretty cheap too so I'd say give Sharpe's Tiger or Sharpe's Rifles a shot <.<

Are you up to date with Uhtred?
I'm afraid not <.<

I don't order them on amazon because i'd end up buying the lot and bankrupting myself

case in point after i got a few yotsuba mangoes from a certain friend, i went and bought the other 10 a week later <_<

so i get cornwell books when i see them in book shops and my average spend per visit is ~£100 ;-;
once a year is all i can do

but yeah, only found grail quest and sharpe books so far
>_>

m8 Uhtred is so cool tho
I shall keep an eye out <.<

What are the titles of the series?

I'm a lazy fuck so I shall attempt to name them all in order by memory. You can Google afterwards to see how correct I am.

-The Last Kingdom
-Lords of the North
-Burning Land
-Sword Song
-Pale Swordsman
-Death of Kings
-Warriors of the Storm

One thing that I found different between multiple playthroughs was actually in the grinding. Since your skill at the game increases, the large soul dropping enemies (bosses) become easier, and the progression is more straight through without as much grinding. Even if you don't have the stats from pure leveling, your skill can weather down most bosses once you know their shtick. That's when I started enjoying the game most.

When I play now, I hardly do any grinding, but when I first started I did a lot of grinding because the challenge of the game encouraged that playstyle. I cautiously approached everything and wanted to prepare myself for every encounter, my paranoia and low skill fed a desire for getting more levels, hence souls and grinding.

The only reason I grind is to get enough Souls to level up my equipment
Oh, forgot about this. I usually don't have to farm souls for boosting equipment, but the titanite?
Yes, and either way you have to farm something. Since I usually get items that require twinkling in the first areas, I have to farm. It's the worst part of every playthrough.
Spoiler
Fucking clams!

Spoiler
I usually just play with the Claymore so my grinding consists of farming Anor Londo then running to the Blacksmith and back

OBI WAN, CHANCELLOR PALPATINE IS PANTS!

FROM MY POINT OF VIEW THE JEDI ARE PANTS!

That probably won't make much sense unless you know British slang
It's just another way of saying rubbish, right? I guess that's kinda funny.

Obi-Wan: Ever make your way as far into the pants as Coruscant?
Jango Fett: Once or twice.
Obi-Wan: Recently?
Jango Fett: Possibly.

Yeah it's like

'Hey man, did you see Downton Abbey last week?'

-'Nah I mate I don't watch that, it's pants!'

In ROTS it would basically be Obi Wan telling Anakin that Palpatine is a crappy leader, heh.
