RSE will always be my favorite. When I listen to the soundtrack or play it, it just stirs a really happy feeling inside me that I find difficult to actually explain.
If it had the physical/special split it would be perfect. I feel as if my dislike of ORAS comes from not being able to live up to the hype and expectations I had for it.
The lack of the split doesn't really do anything noticeable in the main story so I'm cool with it.

Also, know what I'd really like? The ability to change your background for Wifi battles. That simulation-looking background gets a bit samey after a while. It would be nice if you could change it to different kinds of scenery.

Do you think they're going to improve the models, or even make new ones for existing Pokemon from scratch? I assumed that Gen 6's 3D models were the best they could make on the hardware, but maybe they can make them look even better?

I can appreciate the fact that it started the whole franchise and it deserves respect for that alone. It's still my least favorite Gen in terms of design and region. It's not bad, none of the Gens are. I just happen to like it the least. Still, there's some good stuff in it.
But after playing the later games for so long and seeing and enjoying the improvements, I find it really tedious and lackluster when I try playing Gen 1.
I find that Nuzlocke runs are a great way to add a little bit more fun to Gen I.
It's probably the most challenging Generation to do a Nuzlocke in.
Yeah, especially due to the lack of variety of certain types, and mechanics that you may forget are broken. I've never actually done a Nuzlocke, it seems like it may be fun.

Also adding on to my above post, specifically my point about the old mechanics being tedious, I have to contradict myself because Gen 2 is still a blast to play, and I don't even know why. Johto just seems to be a perfect continuation, with great music, designs and characters. It's still old, but it's just so much better in every way.
