That's just the thing - there is no reason we're in this "maze". We're here for the same reason that an ant is, or that a robin is. We just are. We're animals, and unlike most animals, we don't spend all our time trying to get food or water. We've already mastered the art of preventing starvation and thirst, so we spend our time thinking up these big questions like "what does it mean", "why are we here", when the simple answer is nothing, no reason. You can overthink yourself to death about why you're in the maze, and I hope the contrived answer you get is more fulfilling than the tasty, real block of cheese I'll have. If something truly happens for no reason, which I think is just bogus, either way, you need a justification for the phenomenon. A reason. Why are we here—No, why should we be here? Why should we continue? What is our contribution?
No one's asking this question, because everyone's too busy trying to have "FUN".
And I hope you just die if that's all you think life is about.
Okay, the actual reason why we're here is because the Big Bang formed hundreds of millions of galaxies, including the Milky Way. In the Milky Way, Earth formed. Fast forward hundreds of thousands of years, the first single-celled lifeforms form. Fast forward even more, those lifeforms evolve into multicellular organisms. Those organisms eventually become fish, insects, birds, etc. Mammals eventually form, which leads to the rise of apes. Tens of thousands of years after the extinction of the dinosaurs, apes evolve into neanderthals, which eventually evolve into modern humans. One human, the genesis of all that is good and moral, rises out of the filth of the mortal world, forever entangled of their sins of having fun and pleasure, and schools them over the Internet. There is no reason we're here other than basic evolution. We should continue because life is full of happiness and pleasure if we live it right. We don't have a "contribution", nor are we obligated to.

Not even referring to my drug use, but that's definitely a part of that. And yeah, of course I haven't. I intend to spend whatever days I have left living to the fullest I can possibly conceive. There's a base level of monotony required to get the physical needs to survive, sure. But all in all, I'm not trying to live like Verbatim seems to want to.

Hallucinations on DXM usually come in the form of phosphenes. If you're in a place with too much light and sound, then it will distract from them. It's different for everyone but you probably wont ever get visual distortions like you do on psychedelics.
Ah, makes sense. I've actually never done a psychedelic (though I really want to try psilocybin at some point). I thought you were referring more to the hallucinations you get on a deliriant like DPH.
