The Flood / Re: if I ever die I'm posting my obituary on this website
« on: March 13, 2024, 09:59:46 PM »
Can't say I needed or wanted the reminder to my ignorance and past instability there Class. Past my own bullshit, I don't think there has been officially. But I think un-officially we have lost people that used to come here due to death. But you gotta look at the odds of them having a buddy to post their obituaries. Slim to none. Realistically and most likely, people just go dark and they're never heard from again.
And yeah that's my fear. If I ever die, I want someone to at least commemorate it on Sep7agon

Yikers, just referencing our shared history. Disappointed in yourself or not, you have to admit that from an outsider's POV, it's a cool bit of lore. I don't judge you whatsoever.

I mean, if I had to remember all of my mistakes, I'd probably have an existential crisis. I remember when I tried to steal my mother-in-law's wedding wine that was never supposed to be opened lol...........yeah, I've done plenty worse than you - you're practically a saint. Anyway, she caught me and the wine is still unopened. So no harm no foul.

Transition early and never give up control of TVC.

Emily Baranka is your one true love, date her. And keep track of Kris Michaels always. Find a way to save Sam O. again regardless of the changed timeline

it's a very personal question to ask, but I am here in the heart of the forest answering it

Gaming / I'm playing Halo: CE for the first time
« on: June 08, 2023, 01:55:15 PM »

So yeah, big confession: while I know the story of the core Halo trilogy and all the tropes and characters and such, I never played Halo: CE or Halo 2 when I was a kid or ever (okay, I played a little Halo 2 on my friends' console iirc, but just multiplayer not campaign). So now that I have the Master Chief Collection and finally bought some more storage space, I figured I'd try to play the first two Halos.

I'm starting on CE and oh my god it is fun. I'm surprised at how fun it is for how dated it is. I'm playing MCC which means the anniversary edition, and still I can tell that the visuals and such look 2000s-esque, but the gameplay itself still holds up amazingly. I like fighting Elites instead of Brutes. I didn't play much of the Reach campaign like I did with Halo 3, so fighting Elites instead of Brutes is refreshing.

I'm currently on the third level, "The Truth and Reconciliation". Sniping area in the beginning was challenging (playing on Heroic) but still mainly a breeze. But once I boarded the spaceship while my health was low (no health packs to be found before boarding) things took a turn. I now understand the fear of death because of these insanely good invisible Elites. I can't get past the opening part. Best I can do is stand way back in one of those hallways that they spawn in with the sliding door at the front of the hallway, and every time the door opened and no one was there I knew to start shooting. That worked for one life but then they rushed me and got me while I was reloading. Do I have to go out and find something or just survive these waves of enemies?

I've watched some of these cutscenes before but not all of them. Excited to get the whole story start-to-finish.

Anyway, how have you been? What games have you been playing?

Nothing but maintaining my commitments and having fun. I should set a specific summer goal. Maybe get at least 100 more pages into The Brothers Karamazov

The Flood / I'm considering seeing Barbie on opening night
« on: June 02, 2023, 04:02:02 AM »
Been too long since I've seen a good movie in theaters and this one looks like a spectacle to say the least. The release date (6/21)  is just far enough away to keep my interest, but also to give others around me notice of my intention. So it might be a fun thing to do mid-summer.

What do you all think of this movie?

I really hope Cheat keeps this website active for as long as she can! So many memories here. Even if it's dead, we can always revive it lol. Once I get into a position where I don't have to work - and I can just chill on the computer all day again -  then I will make this place famous just you wait.

The Flood / The Last of Us is really good
« on: January 30, 2023, 02:11:51 PM »
Watched the first couple of episodes and I really like it. It has Bella Ramsey, who plays Hilda, so that's an instant plus. And I finally get to see Pedro Pascal, this new amazing actor, in the flesh. Have heard a LOT about him but haven't seen him in anything because I don't watch Star Wars or Lame of Thrones

But yeah - this feels new. It feels great, just watching the show. Might do a more in-depth review later but rn I'm about to watch episode 3! :D

And oh - I have never played TLOU video game. So this is all coming to me with fresh eyes.

Just looked up the plot and it sounds interesting - in that events like the holocaust and 9/11 never happened - but it also sounds rather confusing too
