Why? All the misogynists love hating on makeup. It makes girls more confident and proud of their bodies. And yes, some things deserve to be covered up. When a guy has a zit and applies coverup to it, no one cares. Not to mention that most of the widespread makeup is used for enhancement, not covering stuff up - lipstick, eyeliner, blush, foundation, etc.

I obviously disagree with this a lot, but you're right in the sense that it's a borderline non-issue because the amount of qualifying women would be so low. It could be a win-win if women would be allowed to serve on the front lines if they meet all the requirements that a man has to.

i don't think people want woman barred from infantry simply because they're women, but because men act differently around women.
And they shouldn't in a combat situation. Like I said in that other (exhausting) thread, if a soldier is going to put the mission at stake because of a single life, just because that life is a woman's, they're a bad soldier.

we can argue the shoulds and shouldn't of the universe til we're blue in the face
but it still doesn't change the reality of the situation that men and women act differently around each other, consciously and unconsciously.
So your logic is that because men and women are unconsciously prejudiced against each other, we should use that as the basis for discrimination? Your idea of all-female units is a good one, though, and that's probably the best of both worlds. There's nothing inherently wrong with segregation like there is with discrimination.

Community isn't on Netflix at all, at least not in the US. They just put season 6 on Hulu, though. Also, you can watch all the episodes on Yahoo Screen for free, but that sevice is pretty glitchy.

I could write an essay on season 6 of Community, lol. It definitely has its flaws, but the thing that I love about it is how earnest and honest it is. It feels so real, and the jokes are a lot more concept-based and obscure than they were when NBC dictated the show and tried to hard to make it mainstream. IMO, 3 > 2 > 6 > 1 > 5
