Absolutely not.
Why do you value friendship over justice?
Not just any friend, but my specific best friend. I could never see him doing something like that, and if he did, I would be more concerned for him than the victim. And besides, we've been through too much shit and owe each other too much for me to turn him in for even a crime like that. On principle, justice is more important than friendship. But I would do the morally wrong thing and keep the secret in this instance.

A cop should be 100% sure you're a criminal before he even talks to you.
"Hello sir, I'm just going door-to-door to warn you about a potential domestic terror-"
"FUCKING PIG GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM ME I HAVE YOUR BADGE NUMBER."
Yeah exactly cops have no right to infringe on your calm state of mind

Honestly, if a cop detains you, you cooperate and he finds nothing bad on you at all, he should be reprimanded.
lolwat
There are myriad reasons why a cop might be reasonable in stopping you yet turn nothing up. And this is ignoring the situations where people clock the coppers and ditch whatever they have on them which might be incriminating.
Doesn't matter. A cop should be 100% sure you're a criminal before he even talks to you.

The first few episodes of Breaking Bad are insanely good.
the last few are even better
but then again you think that Walt was some kind of hero and not a terrible monster who did it all for himself
lmao Walt isn't a hero at all. That's what makes him so interesting.
A middle aged man who's been mild mannered his whole life, played it safe, tried to do things the "right" way, then gets lung cancer and is told he won't make it past some months to a year or slightly longer. This in turn liberates him, because he's already a dead man walking, he realizes. So he slowly starts telling everybody to go fuck themselves like he wanted to do his whole life and ends up becoming this brutal monster of a human being.
It's not about this black and white "good and bad". That doesn't even exist.
oh, you seem to get it maybe I'm thinking of someone else

There has to be a reason for being detained, though.

Between two similarly-qualified people, sure. But if I'm applying to be a pharmacist, and I have an overflowing amount of knowledge on the subject, I'm not going to miss the job because the next guy in line can tell a story about the time he fixed a rotary phone.
no but you can't be a pharmacist without specialised training, anyway so . . .
Exactly. And the thread is about whether I would want to be a specialist or a jack of all trades....

I'd rather be useful in the industrial world than useful at being interesting at a party, tbh
i think you undervalue the utility of being interesting
as much as it sucks a lot of the time, the likable person gets the job. not the one best qualified.

I already have general knowledge
well when i say "a little about a lot" i mean more general knowledge than most folks
Still, what kind of job can you get by knowing a little about a subject? There's no job where you have to be a jack of all trades, there are countless where you have to be a specialist.
well sure but there's more to life than a job
a jack of all trades is far more interesting from a social aspect, and even in terms of just things you can do on your own.
