Or, y'know, somebody who is genuinely interested in that culture and wants to see what it's like. It's pretty obvious when somebody is trying to mock a culture and when they're merely curious about it. It's also pretty obvious that you don't have to be intentionally making a mockery of something to be making a mockery of something. There are cultural symbols that have meaning behind them--to appropriate something like that without grasping the meaning behind it would be a mockery, and you'd be a shithead for even attempting to be a part of it.

Is it really any different if an urbanized, upper-class black person who drinks lattes all day wears an african tribal headdress? He's just as secluded from that culture as the white guy who works in the office next to him, and it's just as mocking. Just because his great great great great great grandfather's great grandfather was part of that culture doesn't give him any justification to appropriate it. I use it all the time as a singular pronoun and I understand it's not "correct." I just don't care. It should be able to be used this way.
It creates lexical ambiguities that would look puerile and unprofessional under a formal setting. If you were reading an article about someone in the newspaper who insisted on being referred to as a "they," the average reader is going to assume that the story is referring to more than one person. It just creates unnecessary confusion.
Then we need a word to refer to agender/gender nonbinary people. Because whether you like it or not, it is a thing.

I'm in the same predicament as you. I have an instagram account and I can never pull off any selfies correctly. I keep posing instead making a natural expression.
I suggest asking a friend irl to take pictures of you when you are not expecting it. Sorta worked for me.
it's not really a problem with the pictures, though that heightens the problems for sure and makes me look more awkward, but you don't get these kinds of visceral reactions from people just from bad pictures it's more about my actual face

No, I'm just getting bored. Haven't really found many interesting discussions yet, and most people's conduct here is old and tiresome stuff I've seen a million times before.
I also came here to see if I could recognize some old faces from Bungie.net of yore, but I haven't had any such luck so far. Feeling pretty assured I have not missed-out on much after quitting The Flood 6 or 7 years ago on Bungie.net.
Nothing is going to be B.old again, but this site is still leagues better than the frankenstein monster of current Bungie.
