There are individual canon events (someone compiled all of them from documents and books you can find in the second game + out of game comments from the devs) but it's mainly low chaos stuff, yeah. Off the top of my head, the only canon event that's high chaos is that the Lord Regent was killed. I think there's more, though.

I did two separate runs. Low and high. High chaos, get to the final section of the game.
Friendly, mild mannered moral compass boatman pulls out a gun and tells me I'm a miserable cunt in a polite manner, shoots up into the air and leaves me to my fate. Died a little inside.
Samuel's attitude toward you is the one reason I can't bring myself to ever do high chaos again in D1. I can make Emily a badass revenge-hungry empress no problem, but making the one loyal, cool person in D1 completely despise you is too much. Samuel is like the Alfred to your Batman in low chaos and you two are like the tag team of justice and honor in the fucked up world. Succumbing to the darkness of Gristol and proving to Samuel you're no better than anyone else is too depressing for me to do anymore.

I used to be short, skinny, much more unattractive. And now that I look like I do, the difference in my life is night and day. You get treated SO differently when you're one of the attractive people it makes me mad actually. People are nicer to you. You get invited out more, more respect. You make more connections and generally it just becomes very pleasant to be around people, because everyone likes you more.
It's something that's hard to grasp if you haven't experienced both ends of the spectrum.
Being tall is super unattractive. Same with musculature. Being attractive has value, being tall/muscly doesn't.
