This may sound like an even worse reality than someone trying to pass off your work as their own, but it's past the point of being sad how obtuse you can be. Truthfully, I feel sorry for you. But at the same time, your reactions are too delicious to pass up.
It's like when something is so historically relevant that it needs to be saved for future generations. At that point, the emotions of an individual aren't relevant anymore.
