We're just a product of evolution, simple as that. When a bug dies, does it go to heaven? Does it experience some fantastic afterlife? No, it gets obliterated, same as us. Everything we are; our personality, our identity, our existence, is housed solely in our brain. And when we die, our brain rots, along with our consciousness.
