These things sure are priorities when we have high unemployment, kids starving, a high crime rate, homeless people.
I mean I need to be able to rape my pet pig without going to jail. These are the issues politicians don't have the balls to talk about.
It's the principle. Things like unemployment and crime will never go away. We might as well live in an ethical society while we combat them. And yes, it's downright immoral for the government to dictate what you can and can't do to your own body. Animals can't consent, so the beastiality argument isn't getting you anywhere.

The right to put whatever the hell you want into your own body is an issue of morality.
And issues of politics and economics--or how society should be structured and how exchange should take place--aren't issues of morality?
Some things are more important than others. Of course infrastructure and law systems are important, but I don't see all of human society crumbling if a libertarian is elected. There are very few issues I would put above body sovereignty in terms of importance. And before you get all "lol u just want to do drugs" on me, my lifestyle wouldn't change a bit if my social vision came about. To me, saying that two consenting people can't do whatever the hell they want to themselves is just wrong. Would I hire a hooker, get married to my sister, do heroin, or assist in a suicide if this came to fruition? Of course not. But those are all basic rights. If you're only affecting yourself and consenting others, it's straight up immoral to prohibit that.

You can be socially liberal without being libertarian. I support drug legalization myself.
I don't align with any party, but pretty much every time I've told anyone about my most important political values, they've identified me as a libertarian. I'm more concerned with it in a social sense, like the right to be a prostitute, take hard drugs, or kill yourself/consenting others. I don't really care about the issues most libertarians in power these days are preaching...the economic side of it. So I guess I'd be more of a radical liberal then a libertarian, but I've never seen a mainstream Democrat come even close to representing my ideals, whereas people like Gary Johnson sometimes do.
