there is a distinct difference between remembering something incorrectly because said subject was massively misinformed (Chic-fil-a, everyone spelled it like that back during the wazoo, even if it was or wasn't correct, everyone calling it that would obviously mean you remember it that way if you hadnt heard about it beforehand), or if the subject is close to but defies normal patterns (berenstein, everyone pronounces it steen or stine, which following convention like frankentstein, is spelled stein) and because OMG MYSTICAL GROUP THINK PSYCHOLOGY LOOK AT ME IM THE NXT FREUD

If you think I misspelled the title, you're not alone. I doubt anyone here is affected by it, but there's this pretty interesting psychological phenomenon called the Mandela Effect which causes a large group of people to collectively remember something incorrectly. It's a new observation and still being studied pretty heavily, but I find it pretty interesting. Apparently, a sizeable number of people explicitly remember Chick-Fil-A being spelled Chic-Fil-A at some point as well, even though it never has been. Some are trying to use this as evidence to support the idea of multiple timelines, but I just see it as a mental effect.

Yeah, I just saw it yesterday. JR, but Dan Harmon especially, have such creative ideas. You can tell the format of Harmon's first show (live-action sitcom) really hindered the amount of ideas he could apply. It's great that with a sci-fi cartoon, he can make episodes with such interesting ideas as this and fully explore them. Pencilvester's death and its toll on Rick was surprisingly sad. The episode in general was a masterpiece, IMO.
