I would say absolutely not, but unfortunately, when you take a high-end job in today's world you kinda just have to accept that you're on the clock at all times. You have to represent the company. I hate this model of business, but it's there, and the Taco Bell guy knew that.

The original films were top tier.
Wrath of Khan was a masterpiece.
yeah, I'll admit my Picard fanboy got in the way there the originals are good (I hate Shatner as an actor, though), but TNG is when the franchise was truly excellent.

Also, the whole point of Star Trek (that so many modern directors have forgotten) is that humanity is at its pinnacle. There's no greed, no corruption, no lust - it's a utopia. It's really hard to write character-based stories around that, which is why the original Star Trek and TNG (which didn't deviate) are the best iterations of the show.

It actually wasn't that bad, tbh, I had a bunch of material to use, which made writing it up a breeze. The real struggle was presenting it, because part of the grade was based on "listener's appeal", so I had to make it interesting.
