this site is like 80% phonies tbh
Carson Caulfield
Such a shitty book.
Protip: you're not supposed to like the main character
The book sucks. It's the most pointless thing I've ever read and tried to be deep and philosophical but failed miserably.
LOL
confirmed to not understand what the book is about. It's not trying to be philosophical in any way, Holden is the faux a intellectual one. The book solely exists as a character study. It's not trying to prove a point or push a philosophy, it's just an exploration of a character. All of Salinger's books are like that.
A character study?
He didn't go through any type of transformation or anything for there to study. It's not a book about someone's day to day either, so it's not a study of a character that isn't supposed to have gone through something. It's in fact very clearly categorized as a "coming of age" novel, but he doesn't really change or mature or anything.
It's basically the author ranting about things and complaining about life through a character.
You're an idiot. Disregarding the fact that you can easily have a character study of a static character, Holden definitely changes in subtle ways throughout the book. It's not a coming of age novel, by the way. Maybe actually read the book, and not just sparknotes?

That day, Bloomberg Politics published an article in which Sandersβ campaign manager, Jeff Weaver, joked that Clinton would βmake a great vice presidentβ for Sanders. Weaver offered to interview her for the job. As Jonathan Chait has pointed out, thatβs a standard put-down among candidates: Clinton said the same thing about Barack Obama in 2008. But when Weaver tried it on Clinton, her supporters erupted. Christine Quinn, a Clinton backer, accused the Sanders campaign of sexism. This pisses me off. Double standards everywhere.

So far so great! Jim can suck it, this is pretty much the Fallout I know with different gameplay. Other than the top-down perspective and turn-based combat, it's definitely better than Fallout 3, and probably just as good as New Vegas. The locations are memorable, the characters are colorful, and the Enclave is far more intimidating than it was in F3. Oh, and it breaks the fourth wall more than any other game I've seen. I'm a sucker for meta stuff like that.
I'm only in New Reno, but easily a 9/10 game so far.

Yeah, I'd major in History if I could. Favorite subject by far.
Going into biochem instead
Such a crying shame.
I graduated high school with merits attached to my diploma for social studies, and I then ended up going into college for business administrations.
If more people could do what they love, the world just may be a better place.
Because majoring in History carries so many career opportunities

hmph. going to college to buy a career now are you? how disappointing.
The point of college is to get a career though
the point of college is to learn.
No, it's not. You can learn for free at a library. The whole idea of college was to train people for careers that are more involved than simplistic ones. It's essentially the evolution of vocational training.
