The worst part about friends dying is not being able to say goodbye. They're just there, and then they're gone, forever. It passes the line of inflicting sadness; you just go numb. There's nothing anyone can say, although they try to anyway. There's no sympathy that will make it remotely better, and I hate the conception that it's required to reach out to those close to the loved one. All that makes it better is isolation, and time.

Saw this comment on another site and thought it was pretty great Spoiler The great thing about Kylo Renβs character development in this movie is that he is so clearly being driven by fear, and as Yoda explains to Anakin in episode 1 (maybe 2?), fear is the path to the dark side. Rey reverses Kyloβs force mindreading trick and is like βyouβre afraid that youβll never be as powerful as Darth Vaderβ, and right before he kills Han Solo, he says something like βIβm so afraid. I know what I need to do, will you help meβ.
Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering. The key aspect of what makes a sith a sith, and what leads someone to the darkside is that suffering, that fear, and that weakness. Anakin was seduced to the dark side by the same feelings (fear of his motherβs and later Padmeβs deaths). The sith seek power due to fear of their own weakness, and itβs really an interesting twist on the classical villain archetype, like you say.
