The Flood / Re: Gravity Falls book
« on: January 14, 2019, 08:22:02 AM »
Okay so season 9 will be cool because of that, great! But the fact that Negan lives invalidates all the arcs that intertwined and led up to Negan's death in season 8, a FORCED move by some higher up that did a disservice to Rick's character progression and pretty much fucked up the entire point of that season. I don't give a shit about season 9, they had a chance to make season 8 great and chose the easy way (that wont be as memorable or awesome in the long run)

Do you watch The Walking Dead
I've seen all of the base show and need to finish the newest season of FTWD still. I'm at least halfway through it though and know the main twist (someone's death) so I don't really have a reason to go back

Thoughts on the show up to the end of season 8?
Rick should've killed Negan and deviated from the comics, it was all leading up to that. I could write an essay on the topic lol.

cannot stand anything calarts
Very pessimistic view to have. Honestly, you'd hate Gravity Falls. It's all about on the sleeve emotion and character progression. It has a super hopeful, optimistic feel and it wouldn't align with your preferences. That's unfortunate because you're a cool person and this is a high quality show, but just not one you'd enjoy knowing your personality.

I don't have any problem with GF in particular, but I dislike CalArts as an artstyle too. It's very generic and at this point is oversaturated.
I wish you could look past the art style, that's literally the least important thing when it comes to a good animated TV show. That's like complaining about the graphics while playing Fallout New Vegas. The story itself is masterfully crafted, with clues that lead you on but don't give anything away. The plot is just a device for the characters, though, like any good story is. Stan is one of the best characters ever and I relate to him so fucking much lol.

I guess the phrase to use here would be "Don't judge a book by it's cover"

Just got gravity falls lost legends, and it's so good! The first story is about identity and how your looks aren't everything and it really resonated with me. Anyone who likes Gravity Falls I recommend check out this book, and if you haven't seen the show yet, what the hell? It's amazing and will be remembered like Shakespere is today.

photos of the cover and side insert things (not sure what they're called)

"people lie and troll each other on the internet, so you can't trust anyone"

yeah, unlike the real world where you can trust everyone

"the internet allows people to be anonymous so they can get away with saying fucked up shit"

in other words, the internet allows people to reveal to each other who they REALLY areβ€”even if what you really are is a worthless trollβ€”making it even less of a facade than the one created by physical social interaction, where we try to make ourselves look presentable to one another due to obligation, among other smokescreens, that basically serve to do nothing but obfuscate the seedy underbellies, or the true cores of our being

which is not to say that no one has ever been honest outside of the internet, just that there's no reason to trust or distrust anyone in particular based exclusively off the medium they're using to interact with youβ€”if i just met you, whether it's on or off the internet, i have no reason to assume virtually anything about youβ€”it's all the same shit

the internet isn't a special mask that people wearβ€”it's a mask, but it's just another mask in a big collection that everyone has and uses, and nobody, on or offline, has ever really seen anyone's true face; indeed, some people can't even see their own (and maybe no one truly can, since we're constantly learning evolving as individuals)

either way, all of this takes place under the purview of the physical material world, so there is, literally, metaphysically, no reason to divide "the internet" with the "real world," because they are objectively one in the same, and the former cannot even exist without the latterβ€”everything that happens in life is part of life, obviously

the only things that aren't part of our world are fictional or imaginative worlds, ones created in stories or dreams, and the internet is neither of those things
how do you explain me then

this is my facebook profile picture, I'm not using any mask

Welcome back Kraut. This place is so negative and backwards but I like to stick around because people here know me better than most IRL people
That's sad, you deserve better.
Thanks, man. We haven't talked a lot but you've always seemed like a decent person. I'm just more guarded IRL and rarely talk about myself beyond what TV shows I like.

She has cameras and keypad locks at all the doors, including the door inside the garage.
LOL what the fuck. Sorry man that sucks, sounds like a crazy ass bitch.

you have a right to die and it's immoral to stop someone who invokes that right

family is a meaningless concept and is only enforced as a cruel social obligation

human rights are far more important than social well being; society can adapt to a moral status quo and if it somehow can't (it can) the very idea of society isn't worth violating those rights
