lmao if you think this is a what do you jack off to survey

it's about being attracted to, not about necessarily acting on them
i'm not concerned about what people think--i'm concerned about what people do

and i'm not even concerned about that

if we're discussing what i personally find more gross and creepy and perverted, then the act of masturbating to a cartoon repulses me far more than simply being attracted to one
It's not some unforgivable thing to jack of to what you're attracted to, though.

Look at people with scat or vore fetishes. Are you going to sit there and call them disgusting people because they got terrible luck? Should they be compelled to not masturbate to what gets them off, while the rest of the world does it incessantly?

"if you didn't have a purpose, if life didn't have a purpose, then what stops you from killing yourself?"

I don't get this statement. I mean, I get it, but I don't get the mindset it comes from. Is an externally defined value to your life tge sole reason you don't jump off a cliff?
This isn't a really Christian idea, kind of a general theist thing I guess? Not even a wise notion.

If life doesn't have an externally defined purpose, you can choose one, or none. Life or death becomes a matter of taste and desire. There's no more reason to kill yourself than not to kill yourself.

But then, if you don't believe in God, why would you even bow to something like reason? Fuck reason, do what you like.

This doesn't make any sense. Creatures can still feel pleasure and pain, regardless of a deity's existence. That inherently necessitates morality.
Here we are at the is/ought problem again.

It is ridiculous to claim that one thing inherently necessitates another when you cannot demonstrate it.

A creature's ability to suffer has no bearing on whether or not it should do so. I have an Xbox, but the simple fact that I have the Xbox doesn't necessarily mean I should or shouldn't play it.
Pain is inherently negative. In and of itself, the human body has a highly adverse reaction to pain. That's the is. The ought connects to that as clear as day. We ought to avoid pain, since it's an inherently terrible feeling.
Kind of a shaky connection, but more importantly, pain is not inherently negative. You're slapping a human category on something prehuman. Pain is an adaptation that tells your brain "I need to stop doing what I'm doing/eating/leave this place, so I don't get killed". It's why animals run from predators. Attaching our manufactured descriptors to it is somewhat arrogant at best.

Further, there are other things we consider negative. What about sexual frustration? Our biological urge to fuck is just as, if not more, important than our instinct to avoid painful things. Is getting laid a human right? Should we, as a society, strive to make sure everyone gets their fair share of tail?
If you think the "pain" of not being able to get some is up there with real pain and suffering, you're retarded.

The last war we should have been a part of was WW2. That's the only one that's justifiable.

Do you seriously fucking think we should have gone into Korea or Vietnam? What the fuck?

Or are you one of those kool aid drinkers who thinks that Saddam Huessein was the ultimate evil in the Middle East, and we had to stop him? There were a lot worse people in that region and in the world in 1991.

Serious / Re: To the people who disagree with using drones
« on: April 13, 2016, 05:10:06 AM »
Drones are fantastic things in and of themselves. They stop American soldiers from needing to put their lives on the line while still being as effective as any squad.

The problem comes with collateral damage. If even a single civilian is killed by a drone strike, the destruction of whatever the target is wasn't worth the cost.
Do you have any fucking clue how much collateral damage there is if you have boots on the ground? No, you clearly don't.

There will ALWAYS be innocent people killed. That's just a part of war. The point is to minimize collateral damage, which drone strikes do very well. You can never eliminate it entirely.
A soldier can use a lot more discretion and spur of the moment reasoning than a drone programmed to strike a specific target no matter what. If a soldier sees a child in the way of his shot, he won't take it. A drone would.

costs so much for the patient out of pocket.
which is a problem. That is money that could be paying for literally anything but a plus sized hospital bed and artery clearings.
That's your opinion. To the obese man, that outcome may be justified by the happiness the lifestyle brings him. And it's his money, not yours. He earned it, and so he gets to spend it how he wants. It's really as simple as that.
Why are you okay with people basically killing themselves.  Thats bad and shouldnt be praised.
I'm okay with people literally killing themselves, too. What someone does to their own body is only their concern.

Why are you okay with sticking your nose where it doesn't belong?
Because it sets an example, and its a bad example to follow.  How do you expect a nation to become healthier and stronger if they dont try. A kid will see it's parents shoving their faces full of shit and do the same, and we support this?
So you think it's better to mandate what people can and can't eat than to set a bad example?

Holy shit. Why are people always so goddamn eager to toss away their rights?

I think fat people are gross, but I keep that to myself. I think fat people should exercise and diet, but I don't run around spurting out some directive for anyone over a certain BMI.
Whoa whoa I never said I was gunna take anyones rights, Im just saying what theyre doing is wrong. Back in my youth if I could refuse to see that blubberball a Big Mac I would have, but that's not fair.

What Im all about are people saying its okay to not worry about your weight, and a lot of compulsive eaters take this onboard to justify their lifestyle, while being blind that its killing them, with no regard on the effects it has.

Im saying it's wrong, I'm not saying we should refuse to sell said fatty food to an obese person, that denies simple liberties, but god damn we should be able to tell them they shouldnt.
From a health standpoint, it's obviously bad. From a moral/ethical standpoint, it isn't.

There's a big difference between a doctor, close friend, or family member having a serious talk with someone out of pure care for them, and a stranger berating them based on their weight. When people who don't really know the person at all cast down all these judgments, it's not helping anyone.
