Playing video games online is an experience.
Watching movies is an experience.
They're not "active," but that doesn't make it an experience.

I'm not saying it isn't nice to have dinner with friends every once in awhile. I'd probably really enjoy meeting a lot of my Internet friends in person. A lot of them are riddled with anxiety, though, and would rather we maintain our interactions through text, and I respect that. Doesn't mean we're not friends, and it doesn't mean we can't treat each other like friends.
I don't need someone like you on the Internet to tell me that my relationships with these people mean nothing, because they do mean something.
