ITT: People who will never actually use their dicks get upset over them and pretend to know what they're talking about
this would've been a cute little quip if any of the advantages or disadvantages on either side were sexual in nature
i mean there are
there is not enough evidence to suggest conclusively that uncircumcised men have better sex

and even if they did, that would count as a negative towards being uncircumcised

intelligent people shouldn't want sex to feel good in the first place

i'm all about enjoying games for what they are, not what they were hyped up to be--which is why i can enjoy games like no man's sky despite the fact that i'm supposed to hate it

i'm not saying i'll like destiny too but i wanna give every game i try out a fair shake

also, "an ugly contest where everybody's winning"--that's a pretty good line

It's so consistently frustrating to know that, no matter what I do or say, I ultimately have as much positive, meaningful influence over other people's lives as I do over the lives of fictional characters in film or literature. All I can do is watch and hope they work it out for themselves, and despair if they don't. There's no stronger sense of powerlessness in the world.

So is this game worth the price of an entirely new console? I have no intentions of playing any other games on the Switch but this game piques my interest.
it's damn good but i don't think any one game is worth an entire console

wii u version will save you money for the same game

Mental illness isn't real, surround yourself with people, get a job, find a purpose and those thoughts will go away.
can confirm this does not work (for everybody)

I've been arguing with people on the Internet for nearly a decade, and it's my personal experience that, if the argument comes to any sort of resolution whatsoever, it usually turns out that my opposition and I were both arguing on the same page, and we agreed on a lot, if not most, if not all the things we were fighting about.

The problem was, the words we were using, our methods of argumentation, clashed. Maybe I took a more logical approach, whereas they took a more emotional approach. Maybe my arguments were based on pure reason alone, and they preferred to pull up research, data, and statistics (which I still think is a waste of time).

I had this a lot with people like Meta--I can push Meta to the point where he's inches away from conceding that capitalism is dogshit, but there are various things that we get hung up on before we come to that point. He'll talk about how capitalism innovates, and how competition is a good thing--whereas my position has always been, "It's not the worst thing in the world, but it could be a fuck of a lot better."

If you read between the lines, you'll see that referring to economic competition as "a good thing" is kinda the same exact thing as saying "it's not the worst but it could be way better." The latter is phrased in a completely different way, yet they're both, essentially, the same sentiment. The difference lies with our personalities. I'm less satisfied with the system of capitalism than Meta is, because it's fucked me and those I care about so often, whereas Meta may not have had the same experience.

Meta is just one example--I see this kind of thing a lot. Two people agreeing on a subject, but their personalities clash, making it look like they disagree, when they're actually pretty much on the same page.

Has anyone else had similar experiences? Is there any truth to the question in the title?

also, this might seem like a dumb question but is the "royal" and "royal guard" weapon series different?

i have almost all the royal weapons and i'm too scared to use them cuz i know there's a side quest that wants the royal guard series.

also also, how do you get a dragon's horn? i wanted to upgrade my champion tunic (it looks cool) but i can't cuz i need a farosh's horn. i'm assuming you hit it in the head?
i'm guessing you just fire at its horn, yeah--i still need to do that as well

as for the "royal guard series," i assumed it was talking about armor

nah, guess i'm wrong

Um....that goes into territory of cut footage instead of one on video quality. The original theatrical release had cut footage, there's a director's cut that has all footage intended for the film. However even the cut footage not shown is considered canonical so there's no controversy over "which cut is superior". Most people simply watch the original theatrical cut, but in terms of quality, there's nothing that would make the film better in lower resolution; most of the technological achievements of the film were of practical on set props and improvisations instead of special effects.
I tend to prefer film grain and other imperfections because it takes me back to the time period.

Resolution, makes the film look more crisp which makes darker scenes keep their tone while making out what wasn't there before. The Space Jockey being seated in his seat near the beginning of the film was apparent but the higher resolution makes the burst chest on him more apparent (something that was important to note).
I haven't seen Alien, but is it inconceivable that someone may have a reason to prefer the original?

What about movies like Alien where the remaster process makes the BD superior to the original DVD format?
Superior in what way?

The existence of film as an art form conveniently serves as an excellent medium through which anything you could think of--even that which is conventionally considered "bad" or obsolete--is given another chance at the spotlight.

Lo-fi records are produced by musicians who want a more raw, unpolished sound--even though it's not a conventionally "good" sound.

In order for something to be objectively good, it must be good in every conceivable way.

Verb, would you say DVDs are in anyway superior to Bluray or HDDVD?

Just curious, no ulterior motive in this question.
DVDs are superior if all you have is a DVD player. They're also superior if you're making a film set in a time where Blu-rays don't exist yet, and you want to maintain a level of authenticity. They're also cheaper, and some movies were filmed with DVD-quality formats in mind. If you watch something like Pearl Harbor on Blu-ray, it's gonna look like dogshit, because the film wasn't made when that technology was available.

The only reason this hasn't been locked for being derailed because we barely have any activity, but this conversation is retarded.
i actually thought you guys were trying to prove something about objectivity with a bunch of weird examples so you could get over some kind hump in the discussion of physical vs digital for the sale of vidya

The only reason you say a faster car is "objectively better" than a slower car is because, 99.99% of the time, the average person is going to find more practical use out of the faster car.

But that's not 100%. Though rare, there are still situations where the slower car would be objectively better.

This means that it's not objective. It doesn't matter, even if it's the smallest most abstract counterexample--if it exists, then there's no objectivity and the choice between the faster car and slower car is a matter of personal preference.

Most people prefer the faster one, but that doesn't make it objectively superior.

This isn't difficult.
A shitty hatchback is better than a supercar how?
Maybe you're filming a movie where everybody has a hatchback, because they're all poor as fuck, and having a supercar in the background would be incredibly out of place.

I'm not saying it's "objectively better" because of this niche purpose--I'm saying the exact opposite. I'm saying there is no objectivity, and anything can be "better" than anything else on a subjective level depending on what you, personally, are looking for.

Are there any games you guys can recommend that would scratch that same itch this game does? I'm thinking Wind Waker would be a good idea to go back and play but I'm waiting for TBlocks to get out of school so we can binge-play (and potentially stream) the two of us playing it. Twilight Princess, maybe? I don't know, I don't think I've really played a game like this before.

A film director is irrelevant. I'm saying objectively I'm better. A faster car is better than a slower car. Not to mention the better technology and the craftsmanship that goes into it.
Why is my example irrelevant while yours isn't?

Physically I'd be objectively better than you.
Yes, under the arbitrary subjective standard of "physically."

But even then, not really, because "physically" is kinda vague. I assume you mean "in terms of physical strength."
I'd be healthier, stronger, whatever. I'd be better.
By those standards, yes.

But if a film director is looking for someone weak and unhealthy for their lead actor, then between you and me, I'd be the objectively better option. You're not thinking hard enough about this.
