claiming that /a/ in particular is one of the most degenerate places in the internet is claiming that the entire board is like that brah
i mean, they all like anime, so that already pushes them over the edge in my book

you really don't see how a website like bungie wouldn't want a site like 4chan posted anywhere on their site
Do you like the Studio Ghibli movies?
i watched my neighbor totoro when i was a kid and liked it

i watched it again as an adult and didn't

not even nsfw, but congrats there are 9 threads out the hundreds made daily

nice job cherry picking brah
it's definitely NSFW, it's a girl bent over revealing her bare ass with the OP asking "would you (fuck her)?"

do that in front of your boss

and it's only cherry picking if i'm claiming that 90% of the board is like that, which i never did--my whole point is that it takes one rotten apple to spoil the bunch

obviously anime fans aren't gonna care, but i doubt you talk with a lot of people who actively dislike anime

>/a/ in particular having a reputation of being the the biggest degenerate shithole

lol, who the fuck are you talking to that's saying that?

i mean /b/ is a board that has that kind of reputation, but /a/? those are the guys who regularly talk about purity and shun people who have regular sex lives.
yeah tell me about it

nsfw obviously

the archive has about 7 or 8 other threads i could link but i won't

well i mean it actually does

even websites like b.net have gore and porn posted on them regularly despite the fact that that stuff is not supposed to be posted there. 4chan is many times larger than b.net so just imagine how many people are breaking the rules regularly. it's actually kind of impressive they keep the blue boards as work safe as they do considering the sheer volume of people that are using the website.
evidently it's still not clean enough, because regardless, 4chan (and /a/ in particular) still has a reputation of being the biggest degenerate shithole on the internet, regardless of how true that is

i really don't think this ban should be raising any eyebrows

it's almost as if the website has around 20 million active users or something
it's almost as if that doesn't mean anything why are you pointing this out

You have a point, but then my rebuttal to this is that there are opportunities to do so without being awkward that aren't taken.

Again I'm not necessarily speaking about here and us as a community. I'm telling you guys you need to value the people in your life more. Because they're here today and then they're dead tomorrow. There's always gonna be that regret of that you could've been better or you could've done something more, that will never go away. But it's not about how you feel, it's about making an effort to make your friends and family feel valued, and that they know you have their back.
i completely agree

Yeah, so let's try and break the mold.
i think you're a swell and outspoken guy who is a credit to the website's longevity, and i'd be upset if you went away, because there's not really anyone who could replace your sense of humor and posting style

and chatting with you on discord has been nice, we should chill out there more often

When has anybody here said something genuinely kind and caring to one another? Can't remember?
actually, i can say "recently and quite often," but maybe not as often as i should

let's keep in mind how people tend to respond to compliments, though--most people don't take kind words very well

saying random nice things to people can often be perceived as awkward or insincere, like you're just looking for favors, and most people don't wanna come off that way, so they just don't say anything

there's more to it than i think you're choosing to see

Everybody loves you when you're dead.

of course you'd be the one to say it
what do you mean

we all understand the sentiment behind your post (that we didn't "love" him when he was alive because he wasn't that important to us and now that he's gone we feel we have to overcompensate), but you're the only one who has said anything about the somewhat fake nature of our collectove mourning. just leave people to cope in their own ways even if it's bullshit.
Or maybe people should learn to show this type of affection to others while they're alive.

And I really don't care about your opinion of me being """toxic""" or whatever buzzword you want to use, shove it up your ass.
this post makes me want to show affection towards you
lmao

My point is that people who are nice and make an effort rarely get treated that way in return. It's a shame.
i agree, but i guess my point is to show how difficult that can be sometimes

you can say some shit to someone you genuinely care about, make them feel bad for whatever reason, with the knowledge that they're still there the next day, and you can make up and be nicer to them if you wanted to--no harm done

but when they're dead, you obviously can't do that, so that's why you see people compensate

it's a terrible aspect of human nature, but at the same time, i think it's kind of understandable

Don't have any strong feelings about the show one way or the other but the gripe I have with it is that the whole "WTF LOL Japan am I right?" shit doesn't work when it's intentional. That kind of humor in general doesn't work when it's self-aware and only barely works when it isn't.
I watched it five or six years ago--Cindy introduced me to it, and I actually kinda liked it for everything you just said, and also because I saw the satire.

Then I grew up and realized how cheap that style of humor really is.

9801
i can attest to it being good shit

good at being shit

9803
it's got a good art style
i wouldn't say it's great, but it's certainly different from the cookie-cutter "let's all just recycle the same exact shitty fucking art style forever" mentality that has plagued the anime industry for decades
lmao did you edit in "shitty fucking"
you bet your ass

9805
she would also try to argue, of course, that the characters do have viable character traits beyond their sexuality

i would say they don't, having seen the show

9806
I wouldn't go that far

You can be "against" sex in general, for men and women - that's fine. But you're a small drop of water in a sea of people who think it's fine for men to have as much sex as they want, but that women should be chaste. While "no sex for anyone" is an ideal I could subscribe to, it will never happen. So by saying "men and women should be chaste", really all you're doing is helping the people who think women should be chaste.

That's why I think promiscuous, sex-desiring women shouldn't be looked upon even if you're against sex in general.

However, a work like this has nothing to do with the individual choice for women to have lots of sex, none, or something between. It's a work made by a man who sexualizes his female characters to the point beyond recognition as humans. You can have a character like Jane from Breaking Bad, who likes sex, but whose entire character isn't defined by her sex appeal like Panty's is.
well, what i meant was that cindy is the kind of feminist who watches shows like this and says "yeah, this is empowering"

it's okay to exploit the female form in the media, and it's fine, because we should all be proud of our sexuality--it's not objectification, because sex is nothing to be ashamed of, sex is wonderful, etc. etc. etc.

she would probably argue that your perspective is hypocritical, because if you're okay with some sexual expression, then there's no logical reason (to her) why you wouldn't be okay with all of it

9807
No arguements, generally curious; what would you do instead to deconstruct tropes on female portrayals? It's going to be hard to do because you need to make sure the trope is obvious first.
see, me! me! me! almost did it right, by portraying the main dude as just this lonely pathetic loser, neglecting his loved ones in the real world in favor of this ridiculous dancing sexual caricature on his television or computer screen

but it fucked up its message by focusing in so much on the sexual aspect, to where most people who see that music video don't even understand the message it's trying to send--they just think it's some weird softcore hentai with some groovy music, which only worsens the very issue the video was trying to comment on

so yeah, i'd probably do something like that, but better: actually show the effects that sexual obsession can have on the psyche, rather than play directly into it

the problem is, nobody really likes to be beaten over the head with anti-sex messages, so it would be difficult to make it digestible

9808
does she watch this or something

isnt she like a staunch feminist
it's one of her favorites if i recall correctly

she is a """""sex-positive""""" feminist, which is just another way of saying closet misogynist really

9809
Also, you just sounded the Cindy alarm.

9810
I mean, I'm pretty sure it's satirical, but it's still abhorrent dogshit. It seems the only way Japan knows how to deconstruct their portrayals of women is to turn it up to 11, which is extremely tired, cliched, and anyone who likes it is dumb.

Same goes for Kill La Kill, same goes for Me! Me! Me! and all the rest. Fuck Japan, fuck anime, fuck weeaboos.
