So Verb, given your... okay? (and I totally feel you on if you hadn't seen Black Swan alredy it would be a more enjoyable experience) consideration of Perfect Blue, something I think it was I that recommended to you, would you consider expediting somewhere towards the top of your list what I consider to be one of my favorite animated films from before the new millennium? Jin-Roh: the Wolf Brigade
quick summery from wikipedia The film follows Kazuki Fuse, a member of a special police unit during the alternate history 1950s Japanese riots. Failing to follow an order to execute a frightened young girl only to see her commit suicide by detonating an improvised explosive device before his very eyes, Kazuki is put on trial and sent back to the training camp for re-evaluation. Visiting the grave of the suicide, he meets Kei, the girl's sister, who doesn't hold Kazuki responsible for her demise. The film proceeds as the two develop a peculiar relationship. Other than "it's sort of a long movie" I'd be quite interested in hearing criticisms of the film from someone like yourself.
i'll check it out

You can't drive? I thought you got your license? i got a permit, but i never bothered getting my license every time i get behind the wheel to practice, even though i have gotten much better, i'm still just as anxious as i was the first time i ever drove on the road eight months ago--that aspect hasn't gotten even a little bit better, so it obviously never will i can just take the bus--it's not the most convenient thing, but it gets me where i need to go, and i ride free because i'm a student--which is another reason why i can't just drop out anyway, i appreciate the post--but please understand that i'm not the kind of person who can just find the "right" job, because i kinda hate the concept of having a job and making money in the first place some people just aren't cut out for work, and i unfortunately belong in that category--there's no job out there for me, it all sucks

i haven't had an overall good day since early last summer, and things have only been getting steadily worse and worse since then
👌
Any particular reason why?
contrary to what some people have told me, having a job is the worst fucking thing in the world, and is every bit as miserable as it seemed in my childhood nightmares college fucking sucks and the only thing keeping me from dropping out is not wanting to disappoint my parents--i'm also struggling to afford my tuition and my debt ceiling rises every semester just like everybody else trump is president and the world is going to shit none of my friends are happy with their lives either, which tends to amplify my own anxieties, because i've been cursed with this thing called empathy my parents are becoming increasingly irritated with my mopey attitude lately and obviously want me to move out soon, but i can't drive (because i'm scared to death of it) or pay rent because i don't quite make enough money to do so life is pretty fucking terrible right now my man

TFA is the best Star Wars movie and this has only become more clear as the years go by.
The Last Jedi WILL be different from Empire--the purpose of TFA's echoing of ANH was to carefully dip our toes back into the Star Wars universe, taking care not to piss off any fanboys and introducing a new generation to the general concepts and themes that a classic Star Wars movie would offer. Which inadvertently pissed off fanboys in the end anyway, but it was still a very smart and respectable move, considering the sheer amount of >neurodevelopmental we're dealing with here.
Given that Abrams was replaced with an absolute nobody, I can't say that he'll just pull an amazing movie out of his ass. But I've been surprised before, and this teaser contained a lot of cool and interesting shots--so maybe it'll be great. I have no predictions on that front.

Loaf, I regret that I must address our recent interactions in a public setting. Your insistence on attempting to debase my good name have not gone unnoticed, and leave me little choice but to levy a brutal retaliation.
Notwithstanding your urban and seemingly aggressive demeanor, I am unmoved by your persona, and in point of fact, find your nature amusing.
Let me take this time to remind you of several facts. I will turn 34 years old in a few months. Clearly, this establishes the notion that I am indeed fully grown, and I will not underestimate the simple but serious assertion, as you seem to be treating me like something else. I am no child, which you will discover shortly.
Second, I hail from Brooklyn; the city of Brooklyn, New York. You and your cohorts may not be familiar with this providence, but I assure you, I have seen and done things which the mere mention of will befrighten you and force you to reassess the situation.
Finally, I am a man of immense power and wealth. My executives have done extensive research on you, and we failed to understand your perspective in this undertaking you have begun.
With that in mind, I must also remind you that I am presently out on bail from recent criminal charges levied against me in federal court. My understanding from my colleagues is that you've never seen the inside of a jail cell. Let me tell you, sir, that you would not do well in such conditions.
This may also be a good time to mention that the root of my name, Martin, comes from the word "Mars," which is the Roman god of war. In many ways, I was born of and am built for the concept of war, which is not a battle that you are prepared for.
Given my recent incarceration, allow me to take note that I have no intention to harm you physically, as my bail status would likely be revoked, and this quarrel is distinctly below me. You are no Charlemagne.
In a separate but wholly unrelated topic, I do have a vast staff that is employed across our great nation. We are aware of the location at which you sleep on a nightly basis. I regret to inform you that, despite my requests that my employees refrain from harming you, they are a rowdy and difficult group to control. The mere mention of my name in your post angered these gentlemen significantly.
It is important for you to know that these men have significantly longer and more storied alleged criminal histories than myself. They look up to me, principally because I give them very gainful employment, and protect me, almost like a general in their army.
Again, despite my pleading, they also maintain and brandish an arsenal of illegal weapons which they are equipped to use. This may come as a surprise to you, because my demeanor is that of a calm businessperson. While it is true that my wealth seems to increase substantially on a regular basis, recall my ammunitions, and also note that I am of Albanian descent. My people are known for their irascible nature and very, very short tempers.
While my temper is presently under control, and I view you as a laughable social media persona, I assure you that further prodding will lead to serious and direct consequences. In the meantime, I give you fair warning that my associates may be looking for you, and there's little I can do to call them off.
I wish you luck in defending yourself from the reality that you've created.

New page, let's try not to lag this one up. Does anyone have any favorite composers? Kondo and Tallarico are probably my top two (because I'm basic like that), but Kanako Kakino's work on the Klonoa series has made her a lowkey favorite as well. Sample 1Sample 2She also did a few Tekken games, apparently, but I'm not into Tekken. If you don't know who Tommy Tallarico is, you've probably heard his work. His resume includes over 250 games. Sample

Is anyone else kinda worried about Leia's role in the movie? Like, she obviously has to die, right--but how?

Huh, I know nothing about rappers so this is news to me. As a kid my older brother tried getting me into rap and I didn't much like him. By extension I kind of stayed away from rap. I don't really find it appealing because most of what people have shown me is a.) artists self-aggrandizing which falls into subcategories of: a.) Enumerating sexual encounters or b.) Talking about money and violence. I don't really care for these things in music. I have heard rap I like, but no artists have stood out to me yet.
These complaints are somewhat reminiscent of your gripes with anime, lol.
Spoiler Also the lag in the game music thread is really bad on my surface so I won't bother, but I was going to say "no love for Fairy Queen?" and "I think my favorite rendition of the Great Fairy Fountain is from Twilight Princess." all you needed to do was reply one more time in that thread, and my response would've made a new page reeeeeeeeeeeee Anyways, yeah--I understand your gripes with hip hop as a genre, and I felt the same exact way until a few years ago, when I discovered that not ALL rappers just rap about money & hoes. Kendrick in particular is what you'd call a "conscious rapper." He pretty much raps about anything that's on his mind, and often, it'll be laced with social or sometimes political commentary. His pet subjects include detailed anecdotes of his street life, the pros and cons of being famous, and appraisals of black culture in American society. If he ever raps about violence, it's always in condemnation of it. If he raps about excess, it's always in a negative light. He always comes across as honest, and utilizes his artistry to paint a gritty, bona fide picture of reality in his verses. Good Kid, M.A.A.D City is the album that shot him through the roof in terms of mainstream popularity, but the dark themes expressed within prevented it from being placed on the same shelf as, say, a Lil Wayne record. It's an autobiographical concept album exploring Kendrick's life as he was growing up on the streets of Compton, and all the ups and downs (mostly downs) that came with it. It helps to understand, too, that Compton is the city that gave birth to a wide swath of important and influential hip hop artists--particularly N.W.A. (Ice Cube, Dr. Dre...) There are songs on this album that cover mildly seedy subjects which may not appeal to you at face value, but I can assure you that they all play into the record's narrative and Kendrick himself does not condone any of it. He's just telling you his story, and from that, you can glean a number of positive messages to take away from it. The production and beats are also super hot fire--that much can be said for certain. This is my favorite track off that record: "It go Halle Berry or hallelujah Pick your poison, tell me what you doin' Everybody gon' respect the shooter, But the one in front of the gun lives forever."Then he dropped To Pimp a Butterfly, which, two years after its release, has cemented itself as a modern-day masterpiece. It is the most important hip hop record of the decade. Not only has the production value been tenfolded, featuring a lot of jazzy, soul-inspired instrumentals and guest appearances by a wide menagerie of iconic artists, Kendrick's lyricism and artistry are just taken to the next level. This might be controversial, but I think it also has the greatest opening track to an album... perhaps ever: I could talk about TPAB for paragraphs and paragraphs, but I'd just end up spoiling it. You could listen to either of these albums, because I highly recommend both. And then of course there's Damn, his new album that dropped last night, which wouldn't be a bad listen either--though I haven't fully digested it yet. And even if you don't like them, that's cool--the important thing to understand here is that hip hop is a lot more than its mere stereotypes. Fortunately, Kendrick isn't the only conscious rapper out there. I could recommend you several more.

So is Kendrick Lamar a meme here or is this unironic enjoyment I'm hearing?
nah, 0% irony he may not be my favorite rapper, but he pushes boundaries and sets benchmarks with every single album he puts out, and because of that, most people would argue that he's the most significant artist in hip hop right now--fuck kanye, fuck drake

That is unfortunate. RIP mobile users.
just posting a link is more efficient the great sea theme is not a bad choice of WW song, but you need more fairy fountain in your life sadly, botw's rendition of this theme--though happily present--is underwhelming in comparison to every other rendition
