Trying to mask it as them not being in Japan and not speaking Japanese is stupid. It's merely dubbed so you can understand it, but the culture and writing is still going to be the same. It's like when Japanese things are dubbed over American things. The 90's is over with shitty and disrespectful translations.

i've seen some weird fucking dialogue apart from the translations appending honorifics to people's names, which doesn't make any sense in an english context, apparently there's moments where characters say stuff like, "i don't want to learn english, when am i ever going to use it" like, i get that the game takes place in japan, but that shit's kinda dumb! is it such a big deal to change it to something like "spanish" or "french"-- something that they're not fucking speaking?

I think the Scotsman's colorful insults are part of his character, but Da Samurai was one of those original episodes where the only reason he never referred to himself as a "badass" was because of the kid's show label.
It isn't a kid's show anymore.
and therein lies the issue: it should've always remained a kid's show that doesn't mean only kids should be able to enjoy it, but that doesn't mean it must cater to an older audience it's inconsistent

one of the funnier scenes in the first season is when jack encounters the scotsman on the bridge for the first time
before they start fighting, the scotsman shouts this ridiculously long-winded insult filled with colorful scotch vernacular
what makes the insult so impressive is that he goes on for, like, 20 seconds without even saying so much as a single curse word, even though you'd totally expect him to, given his nature--yet they cleverly avert it, and it was respectable
with this new episode, that's ruined now--and that kinda sucks

I'm back. First I apologize for the post before, I was stressed over this HW stuff I had to do. But as for your post, I would argue MMO stuff involves some basic human interaction. Not so much Dark Souls since all you're doing is emote spamming someone anyway. But MMO's have chats, clans, emotes, co-op, etc.
It's fine, I figured something was going on I'm sure MMOs are a lot more fun if you actually have a circle of friends to enjoy it and play co-op with, but some people just prefer to fly solo for a variety of reasons. Maybe your friends aren't as invested as you are, or maybe you're not as invested as your friends. If you're that person, you're pretty much alone, so every little annoying thing that some random idiot does tends to get amplified, because you don't have anyone else to dispel the atmosphere--whether it's spamming a chat, having cyber-sex in a public lobby, getting harassed by stronger players, getting harassed in general, or whatever else--it's just a really headache-inducing environment which would be quelled if you simply had the option to play offline. That, and online fees suck. They just suck.
