with how hard anti-drug sentiments are pushed in this country, i simply cannot comprehend what goes through the head of somebody who's willing to use any drug for any recreational purpose whatsoever

did you just have shitty parents, or someone who told you it wasn't that bad

what leads a person to be so stupid? i genuinely do not understand

someone help me
I care about getting through the day more than my health or social sentiments

not that hard to understand
but getting through the day without drugs is the easiest thing to do in the world

alternatively, i hope my life goes to complete and utter shit within the next few years

give me the shittiest and most miserably depressing life possible, and make it last for 20 or 30 years

i'll STILL have the strength to never use drugs, or alcohol, or any fucking thing to help me cope but myself
Wait you don't use any external stimuli for pleasure to help you cope with stress? Video games, movies, food, exercise etc?
to compare any of these things to recreational drug abuse whatsoever is so beyond retarded, and i'm sick to death of having to draw this basic distinction for people

the dopamine/serotonin released as a result of harmless activities like video games, movies, food, exercise, and other productive entertainments is not an illegitimate form of release

the happiness and comfort you achieve through these activities is earned, because you're doing something good and worthwhile

with drugs, you are forcing yourself into a state of pleasure that you did not earn or deserve—you didn't make someone's day better, you never gave someone a hug, you never asked how someone's day was, you never listened to a good story with a good payoff and/or lesson, you never accomplished any meaningful task—so why in the fuck do you deserve to feel happy

and if you're the sort of person who does both, then that's stupid too—the natural high you achieve through being a good and productive person should be MORE than enough for you

yes i'm well aware that there was an actual process behind it, but the term itself was coined for a snazzy marketing campaign. flops and resolution are actual things that weren't named by marketers looking to sell a product. they're actual descriptors.
that still function as marketing buzzwords

i don't think how the term was coined makes much of a difference with what i'm intending to compare

blast processing was a marketing buzzword

flops and 4k are actual things
https://www.giantbomb.com/blast-processing/3015-963/

Quote
The term "Blast Processing" referred to the faster performance of the Genesis. Many assumed that it was referring to the CPU clock rate. While the main Ricoh 5A22 processor of the SNES was clocked at 3.58 MHz, the main 68000 CPU processor of the Genesis was clocked at 7.67 MHz, twice the clock speed of its rival. In addition, the 68000 had a 32-bit internal data bus and 16-bit external data bus, whereas the 5A22 had a 16-bit internal data bus and 8-bit external data bus.

However, the term "Blast Processing" was originally coined in reference to the high-speed DMA controller in Sega's Yamaha VDP graphics processor, which allowed much faster DMA transfer speeds than the SNES, along with Sega's faster RAM bandwidth. The faster bandwidth and higher fillrate of the Genesis gave it a number of advantages, such as higher resolutions during gameplay, faster and more complex parallax scrolling, fast data blitting, high frame-rate with many moving objects on screen, more tiles and large sprites per frame, and programmable 3D polygon capabilities with the base hardware (without needing any enhancement chips on cartridges). On the other hand, the SNES had its own advantages, such as its CPU having more instructions per clock cycle and higher amount of slower RAM, and its PPU graphics chip having more colors and being capable of a higher static menu resolution, more small sprites on screen, and Mode 7 tilemap scaling and rotation. Similar scaling and rotation effects were possible on the Genesis through DMA programming.

At the height of the 16-bit console war of the '90s, Sega continually attempted to posit its Genesis console (a.k.a. Mega Drive) as the "cooler" one (over the SNES). Sega's advertising campaigns were edgy and confrontational, and "Blast Processing" was one of the many buzzwords coined to aid product differentiation. Sega focused on its biggest advantage, emphasizing the much faster performance of the Genesis in its "Blast Processing" commercials.

sometimes i've considered getting myself addicted to some drug, only to prove how easy it is to quit

just as a big, heartfelt FUCK YOU to anyone who has ever been addicted to anything, because that's how i feel about you, and i want to prove how much stronger i am than every other weak-willed fuck on this shitcunt planet

but maybe that wouldn't be smart—not because i couldn't do it, but because there's no real reason to be that spiteful

I've gotten every job I've ever applied for.
you say that like that's a good outcome

file a bunch of applications and don't get a job—congratulations, you suck

file an application and get a job—congratulations, you have a fucking JOB now
It's nice to know I have the charisma to talk my way into an interview when my credentials are lacking, and the saavy to talk my way into being hired, when they weren't going to interview me in the first place.

Seems to me you're just upset because you're not a likable individual.

In any event, I'm done being a wagecuck. I've learned to use my charisma and saavy to make money in other ways.

anyone with an IQ over 60 shouldn't watch sports
Or lets plays. They're both cancer.
99% of the time i'd agree

but there are some great personalities out there that can make a let's play pretty entertaining

sports aren't even interesting from a gameplay standpoint
People like the commentators in sports too.

Also play on a CRT
i'm pretty sure they'd optimize it, so i'm not sure if that would be a good idea
Could you clarify the part of "optimize it"
the ports are designed in such a way where it won't look or play funny on an HD television

oh fuck, i forgot the 3DS had BC with DS games

that really opens up a lot of cool shit
like what
Super Mario 64 DS
The World Ends With You
Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective
Professor Layton and the Curious Village
Radiant Historia
Animal Crossing: Wild World
Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow
Phantom Hourglass/Spirit Tracks
New Super Mario Bros.
Mario & Bros. Partners in Time/Bowser's Inside Story (but only if you've played Superstar Saga)
Seven mainline Pokémon games
Countless good ol' Mario stuff

It also has Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon, which is a remake and port of the first Fire Emblem game (the one where Marth is the protagonist).

playing it with anything other than an SNES controller, though...
they don't make adapters for the wii u huh
they do but idk if you wanna get one, or if you just wanna deal with it

it's probably not horrible, just not ideal

this is my favorite game, so i'd want you to have the best possible experience with it

mostly what challenger said but also, because i didn't think it was as good as everyone else made it to be, and you have a contrarian streak to you

this was before i found out about your "overrated =/= bad" opinion
i'm a sucker for stylish character studies and quotable gangster movies

when i first saw it, i wasn't expecting for it to have much of a plot, but it did, so that was a pleasant surprise

the only part that i thought was kinda weird is the same part that everyone else seems to forget about

Spoiler
the weird incestuous stuff towards the end

it ain't my favorite movie, probably top 30, you could've said goodfellas or requiem for a dream instead, because those movies hit a lot closer to home for me

Verbatim likes Scarface? That's kind of weird.
i thought so too
lol why

it's a good-ass movie
mos def but I didn't think you'd like any of the messages or relate to Tony Montana
i relate to tony a little bit—he's protective of his loved ones, and his anger, though righteous, can sometimes blind him from the truth, or just make him look bad, when he's just trying to express himself, or keep his sister out of danger, for example

one of my favorite scenes is when
Spoiler
he refuses to kill somebody he was ordered to kill, because he would also be killing his family in the process

obviously he's not all good, but either way, it's hard not to like him when pacino plays him so goddamn well

as for the messages, i always viewed it as an anti-excess movie with a message of "don't let your aspirations go to your head"—any time people say a movie is "glorifying" drugs and violence, i always think it's doing the exact opposite, because this is a very anti-drug movie to me

tony's life rises to the top as a drug lord, sure, but it's also what eventually leads to his downfall—he could've chose a modest crime-free life, but he got greedy, so the movie is about what happens when you let your greed and lust for life strangle whatever goodness you may have had before
