anyone with an IQ over 60 shouldn't watch sports
Or lets plays. They're both cancer.
99% of the time i'd agree
but there are some great personalities out there that can make a let's play pretty entertaining
sports aren't even interesting from a gameplay standpoint
People like the commentators in sports too.

Also play on a CRT
i'm pretty sure they'd optimize it, so i'm not sure if that would be a good idea
Could you clarify the part of "optimize it"
the ports are designed in such a way where it won't look or play funny on an HD television

playing it with anything other than an SNES controller, though...
they don't make adapters for the wii u huh
they do but idk if you wanna get one, or if you just wanna deal with it it's probably not horrible, just not ideal this is my favorite game, so i'd want you to have the best possible experience with it

mostly what challenger said but also, because i didn't think it was as good as everyone else made it to be, and you have a contrarian streak to you
this was before i found out about your "overrated =/= bad" opinion
i'm a sucker for stylish character studies and quotable gangster movies when i first saw it, i wasn't expecting for it to have much of a plot, but it did, so that was a pleasant surprise the only part that i thought was kinda weird is the same part that everyone else seems to forget about Spoiler the weird incestuous stuff towards the end it ain't my favorite movie, probably top 30, you could've said goodfellas or requiem for a dream instead, because those movies hit a lot closer to home for me

Verbatim likes Scarface? That's kind of weird.
i thought so too
lol why
it's a good-ass movie
mos def but I didn't think you'd like any of the messages or relate to Tony Montana
i relate to tony a little bit—he's protective of his loved ones, and his anger, though righteous, can sometimes blind him from the truth, or just make him look bad, when he's just trying to express himself, or keep his sister out of danger, for example one of my favorite scenes is when Spoiler he refuses to kill somebody he was ordered to kill, because he would also be killing his family in the process obviously he's not all good, but either way, it's hard not to like him when pacino plays him so goddamn well as for the messages, i always viewed it as an anti-excess movie with a message of "don't let your aspirations go to your head"—any time people say a movie is "glorifying" drugs and violence, i always think it's doing the exact opposite, because this is a very anti-drug movie to me tony's life rises to the top as a drug lord, sure, but it's also what eventually leads to his downfall—he could've chose a modest crime-free life, but he got greedy, so the movie is about what happens when you let your greed and lust for life strangle whatever goodness you may have had before

Don't blame the error of sacrificing integrity for public acceptableness as an excuse to make more errors
it's not an error why do you want to kill children so much anyway

am I representing Holden Caulfield when I read catcher? I'd really hope not, and I'm not. A first person POV is just a pov
we are talking about video games the catcher in the rye is not a video game

Tbh Cillian Murphy was the best character of the entire trilogy.
such an underrated actor
have you ever seen Red Eye?
I have not, but I liked him in Anthropoid and The Wind that Shakes the Barley.
He's also insanely handsome.
he looks like an alien

"if you don't want to kill kids don't have kids in the game" have you considered the idea that it was a tradeoff for them maybe the cost of having some MINOR inconsistency with how the game handles its violence did not exceed the cost of having a weird fucking universe where there are no children for some mysterious, impossible-to-explain reason maybe they were willing to make that sacrifice, and it's a good sacrifice, because it doesn't make sense to not have some kids running around, especially if there were kids running around in fallout 1 and fallout 2 in other words, the game would be WORSE if it had no children vs. if there are children, except you can't hurt them and the risks associated with giving the player the power to kill children simply wasn't worth it, and has no overall bearing on the purpose of the game itself

That would make sense if the lone wanderer were a character and not an insert for the player
if anything, you could argue this about new vegas
every video game protagonist is an insert for the player that's the point of a video game that doesn't mean you're not playing as a character

You're the one who went on about Megaton. There's in-game lore about children dying in the nuclear blasts 200 years ago, not to mention the skeletons of tons of kids throughout the game world.
even if the bullshit you were spewing was true, that still doesn't even contradict anything kids can die in fallout 3 because they die in the lore—okay, fine that does not necessarily mean that the Lone Wanderer can kill them himself if anything, you could argue that, no matter how evil the lone wanderer chose to be, he would never resort to killing children, which explains why the player can't do it either

Gameplay and plot are intertwined, they're both reflections of the logic of the universe. Neither is more important (in the sense of needing to follow established logic).
but you're wrong
7855
« on: June 16, 2017, 02:28:35 AM »
you consistently cannot kill children in fallout 3
Nope, the logic that's established is "children cannot die from any number of nuclear payloads"
which goes against established in-game lore
gameplay can go against lore all the fuck it wants

A. No. B. Nothing costs that much unless you're overleveled. C. Refer to A.
A. Yes B. Then it was 20K C. Refer to A

don't kids die if you blow up megaton though
which is a plot hole
nope, because not being able to kill children is not part of the plot it's part of the gameplay gameplay =/= plot
7858
« on: June 16, 2017, 02:24:47 AM »
All gameplay should be canon, that's the whole fucking ideal of a video game. wrong
7859
« on: June 16, 2017, 02:24:22 AM »
don't kids die if you blow up megaton though
then i can simply move the goalpost
"kids don't die unless you blow up megaton"
I'm pretty sure there are no kids in megaton.
there are at least one or two, i distinctly remember

A. You never get phone calls. B. You should never save that many souls. C. Why did you die in the first place you hyper casual scrublord?
A. yes i do B. i have to in order to get this thing that i want C. because despite the fact that i'm the best dark souls player in the world, i was in a situation where i couldn't pause earlier, and i died as a result, and this is the second time this has happened—just because i'm the best dark souls player in the world doesn't mean i can do two things at once like that
