you got 3000 posts, but you didn't hit Legendary

That's a good thing. It's bad to think that's a bad thing
The other ones are safe as well, they just allow more precision. It's nowhere near the UFC gloves. It's a weird weight thing Las Vegas has with its rules. Thing about boxing is it's just a bunch of archaic bullshit that got left in the past and has been a very boring sport since Tyson retired. Tyson even told young aspiring athletes to go to MMA because that's where the future is at. Not that you care.

Anyway, reason it's declining is because of what I mentioned earlier, and just as many people, if not more, find the sport repulsive.
fair enough, but there are still better reasons to hate boxing than that

someone notify me when the melee championship starts
will do

smash.gg has an interesting bracket where they project the whole tournament

in the top 8, they have Armada, M2K, Hbox, and Mango in winner's
Wizzrobe, Leffen, Chudat, and Plup in loser's

they have Armada winning against Hbox in grands

seems pretty reasonable, but my god, i do NOT WANT armada to win this year

i'd love for Hbox to win again, and i'd settle for mango, but armada has been such a pissbaby all year and i'd hate for him to even get second place, i just don't think he deserves it despite being the best player in the world right now

7178
edit:

nvm you got it

Everyone hates boxing, just not for the reasons you do. It's a boring as HECK sport and they smack each other with pillows. 10 ounce gloves are super soft and easy to hide behind.
That's a good thing. It's bad to think that's a bad thing.

If you're gonna have a sport based around murdering each other, then it should be safe as possible.
Quote
That, and much like the NFL, once people found out that "hey maybe getting hit in the head so much isn't a good idea" correlates with concussions, the sport rapidly fell off (you're seeing the NFL deal with it as well, as well as players actually retiring at younger ages so they don't go brain dead by age 45).
yeah, it's almost like contact sports as a whole are fucking dumb as shit, and it's good that people are doing this

What a shame.
That's a massive drop, damn.
Couple reasons for it. Street Fighter V was brand new, so a spike in attendance was essentially guaranteed, but at the same time, there was no reason to expect all those first-time attendees to return—especially considering how poorly the game has been selling in general (between May and September of last year, it failed to ship even 100K copies). Nonetheless, it created some unrealistic expectations for future turnouts.

Additionally, there's been a change of venue that's doubling ticket prices. Last year's series took place mostly in Vegas, and tickets were about $40 if I'm not mistaken. Now, the entire tournament is taking place at fancy-schmancy Mandalay Bay, which is costing attendees about $80.

As for Melee, finals won't be taking place on Sunday—meaning it won't take part on the big stage, which is disappointing for lots of people. Melee's being treated more as a side event now.

Either way, it's still a pretty alarming drop.
>$80 to watch people press buttons
$80 to be the people pressing buttons. I don't know how much it costs to actually spectate.
what the fuck it should be $5 if not free
seems to be the same for everyone

I'd pay that much. Fighting games are great.

You're paying less for that than you are to watch some shitty boxing ppv where you're not even fucking there.
yeah but its real people fighting each other
That's why it should cost less.

Can this stupid boxing fight or whatever it is get over with already.
"waaaah I don't like people having fun over stuff I don't like"
"waaaah i don't like people disliking stuff that i like, especially since it exposes my lack of morals"
"waaaah i like to tell everyone they're wrong just so i can ride my high horse and feel superior to cope with my otherwise boring and shitty life for another day"
what's wrong with that

Do you have any proof for this?
why do i need to prove something that everyone already knows by common sense

what kind of person do you have to be to think "hmmm i think i wanna punch people around and get punched for a living"

a stupid and poor one

that's the only answer—and on the offchance that they're not poor, then they're guaranteed to be stupid, and taking advantage of stupid people like that is disgusting and you're basically pure scum

Why are you calling boxers stupid and poor? Why does their intelligence and economic situation define them as a person? Why are you assuming every boxer or even most are impoverished and unintelligent?
because they are

and exploiting those people is fucking stupid

You think boxing is awful, I think it's great. I think we need these outlets for the people who have that fighter spirit in them so they're not on the streets causing trouble or fighting some pointless war.
video games are a much safer outlet that pretty much offers the same thing for people who have a "fighter spirit"

Manny Pacquiao, Oscar De La Hoya, Muhammed Ali, Roy Jones Jr, and Ricky Hatton are just a fraction of boxers that gave back to their community and continue to help out future boxers with their own promotions.
they help every single boxer in the industry

Calling boxing unethical and horrible when it's two guys punching each other and they respect each other as boxers and people just further proves everyone you don't know what you're talking about.
this is a pretty retarded response given that you're responding to a sentence saying that "unethical" may not have been the best choice of words

it's still a terrible violent sport and no one should watch terrible violent sports, it's fucking stupid

it doesn't matter how much they "respect" each other, people can still get seriously injured in the ring and there's absolutely no reason for it
