would you say you're more lenient with less popular shows
not on purpose, but yeah, that appears to be the case writers tend to be given a lot more freedom when they're not constrained by company standards and having to appeal to the LCD and whatnot, so that often results in a more interesting (if not outright better) all-around product which kind of applies to all art, really

Hey Verb, I'd reccommend Garo: Honoo No Koukin.
It's an anime set within the same universe as a live action tokusatsu that you may or may not have already heard of, but I really enjoyed the story of it and it had some nice animation, with some hit or miss 3D CG. Plus the intro themes are kickass.
The only other person I know here who watched it was Byrne and I have no clue where he fucked off to.

Quake 1, 2 and 4 have single player. Quake 3 has a play vs AI / bots mode, which sort of counts I guess.
And I don't think Prehistoric ever said they had to be single player though.
