For them, it's not an issue of wasting, it's an issue of ethics. you aren't using your brain right now eating an animal isn't inherently wrong systematically torturing and slaughtering them for our use is wrong it's the torture and the suffering of the sentient beings that makes the matter whatever's left of them, it would be BEST to make GOOD USE of their remains--that's also the ethical decision, and most vegans will agree with that by eating a piece of meat you were accidentally given in your meal, you aren't contributing to the industry it's like you didn't even read the article
