i'll have everything updated by midnight

Noodles still has two matches to finish--one against Cheat, and one against Tyger. Remember not to change your team at all when you fight Tyger, Noodles. That can only be done between matches.

This ALSO applies to your battle against Cheat--you have to use the same team you used against him, as well. Soooooo... Yeeaaaahhhh. <_< Considering you just sort of... created a joke/throwaway team for that fight, you might be able to ask him for a rematch (because I have the sneaking suspicion that you did not save that team that you used... in which case... you'd have to forfeit that one...)

this is why you should finish your matches as soon as you begin them <_<
don't leave in the middle of it unless you really have to

42902
you don't technically have to, but it would be nice

FYI, the previous probability was 1/8192

now it's 1/4096

1/819 if you're taking hordes into account

they're a lot less special now, yeah

someone told me they lost meaning since AR was invented, but like, you don't have to use AR
just like you don't have to use any methods or tricks to get any

but i mean, they even increased the chance of you finding one in the wild--the one "legit" way
and it shows--i once found two shinies practically back to back in Gen VI, just by walking in grass

edit:
that actually had a 1/16,777,216 chance of happening
that's pretty intense

Which users do we have on here that are the most "famous" in the Bnet community?

I'd say the most prominent one is either Verbatim or Mr. Psy.
"Verbatim - This guy is mad 24/7, 365. The fucker is opposed to weed with every fiber of his being, and he's a Straight Edge. (Synonymous with "queer" and "faggot".)"

did you write that
i bet you wrote that

no one else would consider the weed thing a defining feature about me

If it isn't useful, then what is it?
use-some? i don't know, there's not a word for it

useful implies full of use
useless implies zero use

in reality, it's not black and white

and funnily enough, that statement just proves my point further

you're right in saying that we only give words meaning--they have no intrinsic meaning
so i just think it's funny how 90% of the time, you misinterpret everything

so clearly, other people are better at giving words meaning than others
and you're one of the worst i've ever met at it, ever

Serious / Re: Numbers don't 'exist'; there is nothing special about them
« on: February 05, 2015, 03:37:23 PM »
All of our letters or written anythings are just bullshit. We look at funny shapes and lines and pixel arrangements that have meaning only because we've given them meaning.
this is just too rich, coming from one of the most pedantic users i've ever met
80% of all arguments (that you've levied against me, anyway) were based on semantics

unless i'm thinking of naoto
you're basically the same person to me

by "revamp", did you mean edit your team?
because you're only allowed to do that in between matches, not in between battles (in case you didn't know)

i'm just making sure, because we already had one player who was confused about that

Serious / Re: Numbers don't 'exist'; there is nothing special about them

you got it

it matters, in meta's case, because anyone who makes axiomatic truth statements like that can also make axiomatic truth statements about other, bigger things, as well--like the existence of god, for example

i think the idea of an unquestionable truth simply rubs meta the wrong way

one of the caveats of being a philosophy student--excessive jargon confounds the uninitiated

he's basically saying that anyone who disagrees cannot account for their assertions, because there's no empirical basis for their claims beyond what is posited to be axiomatic, or unquestionably true

Serious / Re: Numbers don't 'exist'; there is nothing special about them

That's funny Das, considering it's based on a discussion we had with Verb ages ago.
What was that discussion?
whether quantity exists without the aid of human perception
or, as we would have phrased it at the time, "do numbers exist"

i was arguing for the existence of oneness, twoness, threeness, etc.
you guys were trying to argue that math is a human invention

so we were talking last night about that, and we came up with this ontological model describing different modes of perception
1st level - identifying existence--whether things are, or are not
2nd level - identifying plurality--is there one of it, or is there many of it
3rd level - basic quantity--is there "more" of it, or "less" of it (sentient animals are here)
4th level - specific quantity--the ability to count, do math, and use formulas (we're here)
5th level and beyond - anything beyond our current level of perception--4th dimensional shit, for example

it was an interesting discussion that she decided to relay to meta here
