You know, not everything people do is for status. Kids like playing FPS games because they're fun, believe it or not.
i pick not

you can think they're fun, but ultimately, i still think kids do it for status

the games aren't marketed towards kids, at all--and it's generally frowned upon to see kids playing them, so

when i was ten, and my friends started playing Halo, i always thought that the only reason they played games like that was because the "big kids" (teenagers) played them

gotta look cool in front of the big kids, right

kids suck
i'm so glad i'm past that part of my life

wat no
I spent my lateish childhood either holding a controller or watching cartoons
you're missing the central point though

what makes FPS games so appealing to little kids?

shouldn't you still be drawing in coloring books and shit

>have worst gaming experience of my life
>vow never to own an Xbox or play games like that again
>middle school
>Halo 3 just released
>everyone's talking about it
>don't give a shit, because i play good games
>get persuaded by friends to play it with them
>play it--shitty-ass fucking game, as expected
>all my friends play anymore is Halo
>no longer fun to hang out with my friends
>stop speaking with any of them for months
>get a call from one of them after awhile
>"hey man, how've you been? i haven't seen you in ages"
>shoot the shit for awhile
>get bored and nearly fall asleep while talking to him
>friend mentions Halo--now i'm wide awake

>come back to bnet
>realize it's still garbage
>discover offsites
>get banned in bnet elitists

This doesn't really work in the context of the OP, but when women refer to their husbands as their "hubby", it makes me want to punt her.

But people are more bothered by MOIST
I doubt that anymore, because it's so over-mentioned when talking about words that people don't like. You'd think people'd be desensitized by now.

I like to believe that when I express my misanthropy, I do it a lot more smartly and subtly than ol' demolition man over here does.
