Serious / Re: Do you recognize any fundamental problems in capitalism?
« on: February 22, 2015, 02:36:31 PM »
"Social hierarchy" is, fundamentally, one of those terms that makes me throw up a little bit in my mouth. A lot a bit, actually.
It isn't really anybody's fault that some people are better than other people.
Genetically? I don't know. Our skills are dictated by our interests, and our interests are acquired through our upbringing, our social background, and our conditioning. Every ounce of it. The only reason I'm not an engineering major right now is because I wasn't exposed to all the glories of the field as a child. I was very coddled and sheltered, and as a result, I spent a lot of my childhood just thinking and using my imagination a lot. This led to a more artistically-inclined set of proclivities.

You can argue that it's our conditioning that, indeed, makes us "better" (I would use the term more fortunate) than other people, in the sense that if you come out of some rich cunt's cunt, then you will have had a very fortuitous circumstance of life. What I'm saying is, I think it's an insult to our intelligence to allow the stochastic apportioning of social status to be at all extant in any rational civilization--let alone allowing it to define our civilization.

You know, given that we don't have to be that way.

The real question is--does it matter which weed is the "dankest". That's a debate I'll have. Debates about personal values never end well, though. I don't even know if Sandtrap smokes weed. I'd take a stab at "yes".

What are we debating over?
What strain of weed is the dankest.
I don't think so.

Jodie

Ellie
The lack of any discernible differences between these two characters is stunning.

Ruby & Sapphire, though, I don't think I'd want them to be here. They wouldn't like it.

Uh, that's it. Everyone who I'd like to be here, is here.
What, no Sage or Sox?

"The Boss."

You know, I've only ever played Metal Gear Solid 1, but can we just agree that Hideo Kojima sucks at naming characters?

Makoto.

Samus (before she became a fanservice whore).

That's... I mean, that's it. I really don't like girls in video games that much. They're always too sexualized, and if they're not too sexualized, then they're boring.

I agree with clean water. But giving people houses? LOL.

You never truly own a house anyway cause you have to pay taxes on the house. Thats what is Bullshit.
So wait, what are you trying to say? Some people shouldn't own houses, or what?

Or are you arguing feasibility?
verb are you really feeding this retard with replies right now?

You don't think that isn't also an impossible change?
No, I don't. I think it's quite simple to spread the memes (in the Dawkins sense of the word) of the philosophy, get discussions going. Do everything in your power to make it known. That's how all social movements come to fruition. That's how every single movement in history has come to fruition. We ended slavery, we gave women the right to vote, and we are undergoing a systematic process right now where shit like homosexuality and even cannabis legalization are happening.

These are all great social changes, and they happened/are happening. There was a point where people said shit like, "slavery will live on." "Segregation now, segregation tomorrow, and segregation forever." To roaring applause.

Obviously, a number of important discussions have to take place first before we can get anti-natalism in the air. First we have to get rid of this religion crap, but that's gonna take centuries. How about abortion, then. We focus on instilling the "pro-choice" meme, and that'll be one more step towards even more social progress.

I can go on and on. It can happen. I won't say it will happen--well, it WILL happen, when the fucking sun explodes--but it can happen. And I refuse to be discouraged by delusional notions of futlity.

Quote
If you really cared about human suffering you'd become a scientist or an engineer, not a fucking English major.
I'm doing my part in spreading the memes around. I don't have the skillset to be a scientist or engineer. It's not that I don't care--I just don't have the ability, or the confidence enough in my ability to be either of those things. I also don't think it would be very fun. So yeah, I can be a selfish human being. I'm really a testament to my own philosophy. But this appeal to hypocrisy shit is just crap. Obviously, I know that I'm not a paragon of intelligence or a paragon of virtue in the sense that I'm not really doing humanity a service with my English major. Regardless, I'm still doing what I can right now, and I still have time to switch my major and study something more "productive" if I so desire.

But it's going to be fucking miserable.

Rejecting fantasy in favor of human nature is a logical fallacy in itself.

"Human nature" is such a garbage term that needs to be obliterated from the zeitgeist.

If every human being on Earth right now stood shoulder to shoulder to each other, we would only be able to fill up the city of Los Angeles. Let that sink in.
