Not everyone is going to be a doctor and try to find the cure for cancer. People have different skills.
And everyone can do something useful with those skills. Right now, I would argue that what I'm doing right now, arguing, that's a skill that I have, and I'm putting it to use through talking to people over the Internet. That's the tiny little difference that I'm trying to make with that particular skill. And that little skill alone is more productive than all the Superbowls and all the World Series combined.

What did we gain? Well we had entertainment.

But what did the Pats and the NFL gain? Billions of dollars.
For a useless game that accomplishes nothing of substance. Entertainment is worth nothing. We have enough fucking mindless entertainments already. And if one form of entertainment involves the physical extortion of efforts, all for a frivolous game, it's not worth it. It's not worth it at all.

How about building youself for YEARS AND YEARS AND YEARS and then at the end there are 1000's of losers.

Its called the education system and job market.

Its not broken. And the only people who think that its broken, are the people who didn't work hard enough. The losers.
My whole point is that there should be no winners OR losers. The entire concept of having a "winner" and a "loser" is fucktarded, unless there is no real cost involved. And with sports, the costs involved are absolutely extortionate in practically every single facet. Human suffering and cash money. Sports accomplish nothing in return. What did we gain when the Patriots won the Superbowl? The cure for cancer? The panacea for all life's troubles? No. It accomplished jackshit.

That humans are stupid creatures? We all agree on this.
My argument is that humans are stupid, yes--that's the fundamental root of pretty much all of my beliefs--but it's my contention that we can be better than that. We can play chess, like Sandtrap said. Hell, we can even still play sports if we REALLY want to. If you wanna waste your life, risking serious injury, to the point where you might even paralyze yourself, you can go right ahead. Just don't fucking glamorize it or make it a fucking multibillion dollar industry.

Any system where it's your job to build yourself, build yourself, build yourself for months and months and months, training hard, straining yourself, risking serious injury, only to play in a competition where hundreds of players enter, and lose, WASTING all that heart and effort, is a broken system. For every winner, there are a hundred losers. And each one of those losers went through a fuck of a lot to win, and they lost. If you think think that's something that should continue, you're just a fucking moron. You're just too fucking stupid for words.

Stupid people rioting have nothing to do with athletes and competition.
Except if we didn't care as much as we do about stupid fucking sports, there would be less rioting.

Competition is the reason we're the dominant species on the planet and the reason you're sitting in a warm home on a computer bitching about everything all day.
All the more reason why it's a bad thing.

Because it is a pointless waste of time, money, and effort and only serves to breed a competitive mindset in youth. Competition is bad.

I just completed Smash 3DS. I mean, pretty much. I finally collected every trophy, which basically requires you to do everything, but there's still a few Milestones that I need (which are the "true" determiner of 100% completion):

Milestones
- Found 90 unique bonus effects for equipment!
- Found 100 unique bonus effects for equipment!
- Found every bonus effect for equipment! It's super effective!
- Defeated 300 enemies in Endless Smash!
- Defeated 10 enemies in Cruel Smash!
- Achieved a high score of 100 in Rival Smash!
- You've fought 1,000 battles! Positively smashing!
- You've fought 2,000 battles!
- You've fought 3,000 battles!
- You've fought 4,000 battles!
- You've fought 5,000 battles!
- You've fought 7,777 battles!
- You battled 10,000 times! You're no ordinary fighter!
- You've fought 50,000 battles! Incredible! Keep it up!
- You've fought 100,000 battles! So you like the game then?
- You've fought 1,000,000 battles! AMAZING! Thanks for playing.

So, same situation as when I completed Melee, pretty much. I'm not gonna play one million matches in my lifetime, so that's that. As far as I'm concerned, I 100%ed this game.

Now, on to Wii U, I guess...
