I'm not a fan of body modifications in general, just on principle, but I'm quite happy with my eye color anyway.

i'd say its less to "protect the little children's innocent ears" and more to keep a positive and clean online experience
to say this is nintendo going "full retard" is just myopic they kinda have a reputation for being squeaky clean--if they fuck that up, they will CRASH and fucking BURN Or so they think. regardless of if they actually would or not, it's understandable why they wouldn't want to take such a needless risk 40383
Gaming / Re: Nintendumb goes full retard yet again« on: April 12, 2015, 01:29:11 AM »
but really though
all i ever hear about when people talk about voice chat in shooters is complaints about the "squeakers" you know, the little kids who rage/swear up a storm over the mic if things don't go their way, and be general nuisances? splatoon is a game made for kids you can only imagine how many squeakers there would be i mean, i still couldn't be fucked either way, but how in the fuck is someone gonna consider this a bad thing 40385

The Flood / Re: Do you consider internet friends to be actual friends?« on: April 12, 2015, 12:08:29 AM »EDIT: And I know you were referring only to singing. What I am saying is Ozzy's voice was perfect for the band. They adapted to later singers, sure, but the sound was never as good as it was with Ozzy because his voice was part of their sound.what exactly do you look for in a vocal because despite claiming that is vocals are bad on a technical level, you concede that they were "perfect for the band" but isn't that... you know like, what more can you ask for than that edit: well, you brought up jazz and opera i guess 40395

The Flood / Re: Do you consider internet friends to be actual friends?« on: April 11, 2015, 11:16:08 PM »I'd say it's actually just your more quiet thoughts. Things you keep to yourself. Not necessarily any less true or false. But an extension of the quiet parts of your head.Hence why I chose the word "obfuscate". People tend to hide, or keep quiet, their true thoughts in person, as you said. Part of it is that I've known some of my Internet friends for years. Some of my oldest ones, I've known for 8+ years. We've never met, but I think it would be an insult not to consider them friends. They are. The only thing that separates us, metaphorically, is the screen--that's how close we are. The screen is auxiliary. It's an arbitrary distinction. 40400
The Flood / Re: Do you consider internet friends to be actual friends?« on: April 11, 2015, 11:04:22 PM »
Yes. People will say that you aren't the same person online as you are offline. Even I've said that in the past, but honestly, I think it's bullshit. I think your Internet self is you showing your "true" personality, and your offline self is you obfuscating your personality. The Internet is where your true self appears.
Even if you're a troll, that says a lot about your character. You're someone who likes to take advantage of people's perception--in other words, a cunt. Something that may or may not be quite as evident in your offline life. So, considering that I know a lot of my Internet friends better than the people in their own lives know them, yes, I consider them friends. Some of them are my closest. 40401

And I just want to make this clear, too--he keeps mentioning the intimate relationship thing, which is sort of cheating the argument, because privacy should be a discussion of individual rights. So it's a cheap argument to say, "Oh, you'd be okay if people were watching you have sex!?"
Allow me to just stress that, in a relationship, everything should operate by consent. If my hypothetical girlfriend took umbrage to the idea of being watched during sex or whatever the fuck, then I take issue with it, as well. But only on her behalf. I'll protect her right to privacy, but as for mine? Again, I just don't see any good reason to care, because I've never done anything heinous in my life. But if my partner still honestly cared about her privacy, I would respect that. Unless she ALSO happened to not give a fuck. |
