i think i like mario

what's been troubling me lately is that i can't get any combos going anymore
everyone just air dodges before i can land another hit, or they attack, and somehow, their attacks always take priority over mine

so maybe not mario because he's sort of combo oriented

Whether you like/dislike the review and it's points is irrelevant. The fact is, Tackelberry is baiting people into having the discussion again.

if you want to be a petty child intolerant of other people's opinions, sure

at least i just say that using mods is stupid and leave it at that
you have to make it personal, for some bizarre reason

like hating mods eats at your soul or something

As I said before the reason why it got deleted is because Lucasarts out of nowhere cut the deadline on the developers. It's the same case with Halo 2. Microsoft decided to have a far earlier release date which resulted in Bungie having to redue the whole game or scrape most of it.
i don't care

How is using a mod that restored deleted content like in KoTOR 2 cheating?
because the content never should have been deleted in the first place

Mods can be "cheats", but that doesn't make every single mod a cheat.
Making it look better, adding more content and fixing it aren't cheats in any sense.
they are to me

any unauthorized addition to the game might as well be a cheat, if you ask me
i don't care what you're modding or what your intent is

everything about modding is bad
and i will never support it

Gaming / Re: The purpose of mods

In both cases you're essentially adding your own ideal of fun to the game that wasn't there previously. The only difference being that in one case the modders have done your imagining for you.
my ideal of fun is no mods

is there a mod that does absolutely nothing to the game? i'll take that mod

Gaming / Re: The purpose of mods

Mods that add new content, make it look prettier, or fix something
you can literally do all of this with a gameshark
Gamesharks are just literal cheat codes for a game loaded onto a game/console, so no, not really.
pretty sure that's not actually how it works

every single code that you input will change the game in some way
there are just some codes that do more substantial things than others, and those are the codes that get published in books

it's common knowledge that that's how it works in games like Metroid
the "justin bailey" password wasn't manually put into the game for the express purpose of cheating

it just so happens that when you put that code in, you are given almost everything

not to mention, a lot of old PS2 games had in-game cheats where you could change the aesthetic of the characters
like, a common gag was the "big head" mode, where every single character model is given a bigger head

which isn't going to help you beat the game at all

it's the "look at me look how different i am" view

Anyways, I dunno. You seem to be suggesting that "artificial fun" equates to no fun at all. I mean really, this is basically what the vanilla game is anyway, it's the same thing. Regardless of what's put into the game, people use their imaginations and deduce their own idea of fun from it. Bungie may not have initially intended for people to speed around Sandtrap on ghosts pretending they're F1 drivers, but if people find this entertaining is it any different from modding?
yes

extremely

Biiiig difference between using a GameShark to use cheat codes, and getting a pirate mod for Skyrim to enhance your fun.
you can use gameshark to enhance your fun

You might literally be the most retarded user on here.
That isn't cheating. Like, at all.

cheat

verb

1. act dishonestly or unfairly in order to gain an advantage
2. avoid (something undesirable) by luck or skill
except it is

i guess gameshark and action replay shouldn't be called "cheating devices" because you don't have to use them for "cheating" under that extremely shitty, narrow definition

If it bothers you that it's "unnatural" or whatever, can you still say you're having fun?
of course not

i could never have fun playing a modded game
it would just feel dirty

I mean, is the problem that you're not happy with the game being fun in this particular way, or that it's not fun because of this?
it's not fun because of it
