Gaming / Re: Smash Bros« on: April 26, 2015, 10:08:34 AM »
Lucario and Ganondorf are my best characters in Smash 4. Lucario's aura ability makes all of his moves pretty devastating, and even when he's weak, all of his attacks work so smoothly into each other, you can do combos for days. It's so fun kicking people around with him senselessly. Ganon is a lot harder to use, especially against super fast characters like Sheik and Greninja, where the matchup is nigh-unwinnable. However, he hits so hard, it's almost comical, making him really fun to play. I always tend towards the lower-tier characters anyway, to see how far I can take them competitively. Currently, I'm also experimenting with other characters, like Mario.
In Brawl, I also played Lucario, along with Pit, Ike, and Falco for a brief period of time. In Melee, I played Roy and Falco. In 64, I played Ness, strangely enough. I hate Ness now. My strengths include my background with fighting games. I've always played fighting games as a kid--I couldn't really tell you my first one. It could've been Virtua Fighter Kids on Saturn, Battle Arena Toshinden Remix (also on Saturn), or Killer Instinct on SNES. I'd bet on Killer Intinct. Because of its sheer difficulty, despite the innovative auto-combo system, I always came back to it for the challenge, which taught me resilience and adaptability. And though Smash isn't really a fighting game, per se, I picked up Melee many years later, and found that much of the skills I developed as a gamer since then translated relatively well in the Smash universe. My weaknesses are simply that I'm strictly a DIY player. I don't look up walkthroughs, I don't use guides, unless absolutely necessary, even if it's something like a fighting game. I don't know anything about frame data, and I only have a vague notion of which combos will work at which given %s. I have to teach myself all the mechanics of the game through in-game tutorials only. Otherwise, I have to teach myself. Since Smash is kinda hectic, and unlike any other fighting-type game out there, it has been really difficult to learn the competitive metagame for it. I just kinda do what works, but against a skilled player who actually knows how the game works, it's a bit of an uphill battle, especially because I like to use low-tier characters, except for Lucario. My favorite level?... Eh, call me boring, but Final Destination. Nothing like pure symmetry. If I had to pick another, I guess it would be Magicant on 3DS, because it's just kinda... nice, I guess? I haven't played on any Wii U stages yet (thanks for not having any GameCube controller adapters in stock, Gamestop!), so I can't really say anything there. In Brawl, my favorite stage was none of them, because I thought they all kinda sucked. I guess Spear Pillar? In Melee, the Temple and Poké Floats were amazing. In 64, Mushroom Kingdom was fun, because of the pipe shenanigans. My favorite move? I have a whole bunch. I tend to like special moves that are deemed useless by the general community, but are super hype to pull off in a match, like Mario's F.L.U.D.D. or Mewtwo's Disable. Counters and Reflectors are also fun, as well as Ness's PSI Magnet. Tip for "noobs"? YouTube 39607

well that's just kinda funny, because i consider things like wikipedia to be a much more valuable resource on the internet, and yet when i made a poll asking about whether or not you'd donate to wikipedia to keep that site running, i got a resounding "no"
you'll donate for a mod though i mean whatever, spend money on whatever you want, but 39628
