A video game isn't a "real circumstance" though. yeah it is you can't be "fake" scared if you're scared, you're scared why would you want to be scared ever

AKA not something any intelligent human being would ever rationally want to have under any real circumstance
and i don't even scare easily lol just the principle alone of wanting to scare yourself sounds half-shy of retarded to me

or i'm literally smart enough to realize that fear is a negative emotion, and that experiencing negative emotions necessitates a negative experience
AKA a bad one AKA not a good one AKA not something i want to have

Death is a core mechanic in the game death isn't a mechanic, that's just silly a mechanic is something that performs some kind of function what exactly is the function of death beyond a penalty for your fuck ups you could argue that death is a core mechanic in all video games--i don't think dark souls is special, just because it happens more often, just because the game tries too hard to be tough

We went over it. I think that's godawful design. I'm not so sure. First of all, he exists as a very poignant statement about the theme of the game
sure they couldn't have went about that in a less asinine way? without the message telling you to "run", and simply making it clear that that's what you're supposed to do? without some gaudy text marker? no? hmm

Asylum Demon works thematically at all, but it's more likely that the Hammer is meant for someone to get on NG+ since the holding stats for it are astronomically high for a fresh character.
no aria i obviously just suck at dark souls and therefore have no right to complain about it because get good etc. etc.

There's been a patch, so I mean... Maybe it would be best to just redouche it?

I only need to fight Orion, Cheat, and Simse. I'm not sure if they're still in.

It got Porygon and Porygon2, but Porygon-Z stumped him. It was in his database, but only once.

Well, after 1990, sure.
I know what you're trying to say, but I don't think it's a terribly good comparison, just because Mario is probably the most run-into-the-ground platformer ever, just like CoD is one of the most run-into-the-ground FPS games ever. That's all I'm saying.
Besides, I'd probably just make the argument that games like New Super Mario Bros. have ten times the innovation that any given CoD release has (and that's saying something). In terms of originality, the FPS genre is at the bottom of the barrel.

calling it a "genre" seems just like an excuse at this point
"it's not unoriginal, it's just part of a GENRE..."
yeah okay!

That's nice? I'm just saying, that was my rationale for running. Just like everyone else. The fact that the game makes you think you can't beat him, when you CAN, is bad design.
I mean, maybe you encounter him later, though. So you can get the hammer thing or whatever at a later point. I don't fucking know. I don't play bad games.
