This was legitimately a great show.

Katz was my favorite, if not only for his sexy theme.

I won't refuse to watch a movie for any minor details, but there are some minor details that make me cringe.

- When the title of the film is forced into the dialogue with no subtlety. Goodfellas did it good. Interstellar did it bad.

- Any film where there's a joke that I thought was hysterical as a child, but then grew out of. Because now I just cringe at the thought that I once found it hysterical.

- Prolonged romance scenes, because they're always awkward/cheesy as fuck. Especially if it's supposed to be a "quirky" romance.

That's all I can think of from the top of my head.

I can't watch Dark Knight Rises because of that plane scene

well ok i can watch it

but its now a comedy instead of the serious movie its supposed to be
I know, right.

why does everyone suddenly give a shit about boxing
Because people have wanted this fight for quite a while
it's just that i've never seen anyone talk about boxing here before, like ever
so i was like, "what"

Why have I been hearing so much about this fight? I thought people stopped giving a shit about boxing ages ago.

I like to own my games, not the license to a game.
technically the license is still all that you own even if you have a physical copy

i live in a world where people don't work out of the goodness of their heart
they don't work because they like it
they don't work because it's the right thing to do

they work to get a fucking paycheck

and that's global
that is universal

39377
whatever that means
like, i guess in some facets, capitalism is executed better/worse in the UK compared to the US, but

either way, do you honestly believe if i knew as much about capitalism as meta, i wouldn't still hate the fuck out of it?

How about you ban the people who told him to kill himself and were saying other bad shit to him?

But you won't, typical bullshit moderating.
Not once has telling someone on here to go kill themselves been a serious post

So go kill yourself
a couple of mine may have been serious

39381
and keep in mind, as an american, i'm speaking strictly from the american perspective--i really don't know anything about the UK's systems

maybe it's better, as you say, but i mean
we don't have much a history of agreeing on shit, so, i'm not sure if i would think it's too much better

39382
How could you even possibly price things meritoriously? You either do it by supply and demand, or not at all. Supply and demand is the only system of allocating scarce resources that actually makes sense. Trying to price things on some other notion has led to depravity every single time it has been tried, and no, it's not just a case of not being tried correctly, it just doesn't work.
please explain

The rich contribute disproportionately to the public coffers; often at the expense of productivity growth, I might add.
and what's productivity growth

developing a new iPad?

if your new product isn't a fucking breakthrough in technology, it's probably not worth it
(but of course, due to consumer demand, it "is" worth it)
(part of the evil of capitalism is that it's self-sustaining, like a cancer)
Quote
Since capitalism is about competition, I don't see how this is a function of capitalism. Most competition is stifled by government regulations which restrict entry into a specific industry. Especially when it comes to intellectual property reform.
it's a function of capitalism, obviously, because if you're the only one making products on the market, and you're selling a hot product, you can jack up the prices extortionately and lapdog consumers will just take it up the ass--now, you can argue that that's our fault, and that's true, but that's the sort of mentality that capitalism breeds
Quote
Not really. Have you ever met anybody who's really passionate about buying Aquafresh toothpaste over Colgate, or whatever you want to use? I haven't, and if you have then it seems like you know some fucktards who wouldn't do well under any system.
you've never met someone who "prefers" apple to samsung?
you've never met someone who prefers xbox to playstation?
you've never heard of terms like "brand loyalty"?

there are people who won't even buy products made out of country, like it should matter
Quote
The "fresh"?
sorry, bit of sociological terminology there

the fresh refers to those individuals who are just out of high school and are either going to college or are trying to get themselves a job--the next generation of hapless consumers, if you will
Quote
Not a function of capitalism; it's mostly a function of mental illness, Ronald Reagan and the shocking mental health infrastructure in America.
would building homes for the homeless be a function of capitalism?

no, that would be socialism
because i believe everyone--EVERYONE--is entitled to a home

but of course not, there's money to be made
Quote
Which is a result of companies responding to consumer demand.
which should probably raise a red flag in your mind telling you that supply & demand is a broken system
Quote
Not to mention, if this ever does change it will most likely be as a result of the development of synthetic meats--which is a function of capitalism.
that's a function of human innovation
you can... kind of sort of not really argue that capitalism breeds innovation

but i think that's bogus

39383
it's so easy to argue for the existence of some unspecified deist god, or... really, any unfalsifiable hypotheses
because they're unfalsifiable

this is why no one should argue about god's existence
it's just too stupid of a waste of time

Most of the time people were never going to buy the system or the game in the first place.
that would be the problem, guy

Emulation is a good thing, it allows poorer people to enjoy games,
stealing is a good thing
it allows poor people to eat

39385
On what grounds?
okay, capitalism isn't as evil as it has an intense propensity to create evil
things that have a high propensity to create evil may as well be evil themselves

if you can honestly read the words "social hierarchy" or "social stratification" without wanting to vomit, i don't quite know what to say to you

you talk about the lack of alternatives--you haven't lived other alternatives
it's not that there's no alternatives--it's that no alternatives have been done right

i'm just saying, living in a country where we forcefully shove all future generations into excruciating student debt, costs are determined not meritoriously but by the irrational concept of "supply & demand", the rich do not pay their fair share in taxes, corporations can have a death grip on every consumer's balls if there's no competition in the market, and if there is competition in the market, duping us into thinking that one thing is really so much better than the other, the fresh cannot make a livable wage on their first shitty-ass dead-end job, 1% of the population being fucking homeless, and for those of us in the population who are smart enough to realize that eating animals/their extracts is also evil and unsustainable, some of us have to skip meals--often whole days without food--because they cannot afford expensive vegan food

it doesn't give me a good impression on the wonders of capitalism
i've said it before and i'll say it again--out of all the things in the world that i hate

capitalism is number fucking one on that list
