I've always wondered this as well. From my perspective, gender is merely a social construct, and is thus meaningless. Therefore, if a biological male identifies as a female, that really doesn't mean anything. Not a single thing.
All it means is that this person prefers to be referred to as a "she" for x reason. And that x reason is usually conditional or arbitrary.
The best thing to do, I suppose, would be to ask a transgendered individual what it means to be a boy and what it means to be a girl. The answer, I hypothesize, is likely rooted in their conditioning alone--not by any clear-cut, objective definition, as you illustrated. Because there is no clear-cut definition.

I've always just preferred to call it Shitpost Central. Though, granted, I'm happy that we've begun to lock threads with 0 discussion value.
Even though it should've been that way from the beginning.

I agree completely, but I can tell you right now that it's not going to happen.
Regulation has never been this website's strong suit and it hasn't shown any signs of improvement since I joined.

When I called him out on it he changed the subject. Except I didn't. You used the word "extremism" and I explained why it's a meaningless word, because extremism is relative. And then you lost, because you realize that when your extremism argument falls apart, your entire statement falls apart. As such, it's perfectly rational to drop your friends over political quandaries. "Extremism" changes in meaning depending on the person, and is thus, meaningless. You lose.

Philosophically, "love" is one of my least favorite words.
Love isn't anything more than either lust, or devotion. People like to act like it means more than that. It's just a strong sense of affection, for better or for worse. It's not really a rational feeling.
That said, I don't know.

never having seen me admit that i was wrong =/= i've never admitted that i was wrong
if you are not able to refute my arguments, then i can only assume that you're... not able to refute my arguments in other words, you're wrong

« on: May 08, 2015, 01:45:03 PM »
or you could refute the argument being made
or concede that i'm right, because i am AS ALWAYS

and it's just another way to degrade the minority opinion
MOST people are still theists--atheism could be described as an "extremist" philosophy

except no, you idiot
it's a bullshit term because it's so relative what you consider extreme, someone else might not consider extreme
i consider your misogyny, for example, to be extremist you don't
it's slanderous, meaningless bullshit

subsequently start treating them like shit then you are the shit person in that equation no one's talking about treating anyone like shit they're only talking about dropping a friendship due to differing political opinions if i had a friend who told me that he believes gay people should be fucking hung, UH i'm ending that friendship doesn't seem like you really fleshed out this opinion, arbiter
