And there is nothing evil about capitalism. You earn what you work for.
except you don't

some people don't earn enough
some people earn too much

this is capitalism
this is supply and demand

As does yours. There is no way to value merit and never will be. You're living in a fantasy.
i'll take that as a challenge

You're implying it by making assertions that the economy is "evil" and must be changed.
i never said "the economy is evil and must be changed"

i'm saying capitalism is evil and should be destroyed

the only thing that i will lead is the queue to collectively piss on its ashes

Also, sorry, but it doesn't work like that. We don't value off of merit. There's no basis to value anything from it.
prove it

your personal incredulity means nothing

I'm too tired to write an essay here explaining basic economics, so I'll just say when things have scale we have to have some sort of system where we can obtain these things in exchange for something and if you work harder you can obtain better qualities of things ideally.

Otherwise we'd just be robbing each other.
from what i've read, this is well within the bounds of socialism

Oh, so who should decide how it's run? You? You have no grasp on economics.
did i ever say that it should be me?

no

And LOL are you fucking stupid? There is no perception other than our own to go off of, so how would we even value it by anything else? Make something up? Magic? Unicorns? We have one perception and one perception only - our own. So yeah, I think it's a good idea to value things by it, rather than something that doesn't exist.
how about:

destroy currency

work for your bread, not for green pieces of paper

(the bulk of which is made up my fucking dumb shitheads who think anything is worth anything)
And intellectuals have the capacity to plan it?
well, they're intellectuals, aren't they?

i don't think it takes much brilliance to figure out that the basic needs of life (food, clothing, and shelter) shouldn't be commodified, let alone sold for so much, that only the most privileged can have any access to the highest qualities of them

The function of an economy cannot be labeled "evil", because there's no intrinsic value of "good" or "evil" about it.
wow that made a lot of sense

yes, letting the public (the bulk of which is made up my fucking dumb shitheads who think anything is worth anything) decide how to run the economy is so intelligent and totally not evil at all

Oh and it's not dysfunctional.
i like the part where you never explained how it isn't dysfunctional

your economy is broken if value is decided by our perception alone

that is SO
fucking
stupid

now try proving it without citing something completely dysfunctional and evil by design

even if it ended up being the only system that "works", that doesn't change the fact that it's dysfunctional and evil

Oh my fucking god, what a stupid question to ask. Of course you do, there's no "earning on merit" bullshit like you seem to want to flop around.
prove it

You're really desperate for attention with that sort of clickbait.
as are you with this sort of response

not that there's anything wrong with that, since, as humans, we thrive off of social interaction

"attention" has developed this bizarrely negative connotation and i don't understand why

Serious / Re: "Gender Identity"
« on: May 09, 2015, 02:39:15 PM »
I've always wondered this as well. From my perspective, gender is merely a social construct, and is thus meaningless. Therefore, if a biological male identifies as a female, that really doesn't mean anything. Not a single thing.

All it means is that this person prefers to be referred to as a "she" for x reason.
And that x reason is usually conditional or arbitrary.

The best thing to do, I suppose, would be to ask a transgendered individual what it means to be a boy and what it means to be a girl. The answer, I hypothesize, is likely rooted in their conditioning alone--not by any clear-cut, objective definition, as you illustrated. Because there is no clear-cut definition.

I've always just preferred to call it Shitpost Central. Though, granted, I'm happy that we've begun to lock threads with 0 discussion value.

Even though it should've been that way from the beginning.

I agree completely, but I can tell you right now that it's not going to happen.

When I called him out on it he changed the subject.
Except I didn't. You used the word "extremism" and I explained why it's a meaningless word, because extremism is relative. And then you lost, because you realize that when your extremism argument falls apart, your entire statement falls apart.

As such, it's perfectly rational to drop your friends over political quandaries. "Extremism" changes in meaning depending on the person, and is thus, meaningless.

You lose.
