i'm not someone who thinks everyone is beautiful in their own way
some people are just objectively ugly

i wouldn't go as far to say that someone is objectively attractive, though

Don't play semantics. "Things happen for a reason" refers to some overlooming purpose to our actions, not just cause and effect.
that's not how i interpret it, honestly

but in that case, yeah, it would be straight bullshit

The Flood / Re: Things happen for a reason

as a determinist, yeah, it sings logically to me

Not at all. Things happen because of simple cause and effect.
the "cause" being the reason

...duh.

37719
I used to spend waaaaay too much time looking into all of this a while back, glad I'm past that obsession part of my life now. However the knowledge is still there when I call on it
where do you learn this stuff, exactly

37720
oblivious to what

37721
well, now you just be soundin jealous

37722
why would you want to have a jawline like that though

Fair enough, but aren't you one of the people who plays and enjoys pokemon?
yes, but i'm still able to recognize the inanity of having three versions of the same game released in ~2 years is completely ludicrous and unnecessary

and most people agree with me on that one

you know, without saying, "well, it makes them money, therefore it's good"

as for the franchise as a whole, i think enough new additions (hundreds of new monsters introduced with each new generation, for example) are present in each new installment to justify having so many sequels--CoD, in my eyes, fails in this regard

Neither is Assassin's Creed. Or FIFA. Or Pokemon.
yes

thank you for helping extend my argument

if there was just one or two CoD games, i wouldn't care as much

there doesn't need to be fucking ten of them

it's generally unethical to dupe consumers into buying shit products for their hard-earned dosh
You use the word unethical in completely inappropriate situation you know?
it was perfectly appropriate, actually

duping consumers be bad

It offers entertainment, and at the end of the day that's what a game is meant to do.
in the same way that masturbation does

Serious / Re: if gender is a social construct
« on: June 03, 2015, 03:52:17 AM »
As in, both twins became transgender?
Yes, and no. Cases where one developed this specific kind of body dysmorphia would signify genetic reasons; cases where both developed it and one or both had a lasting case (as in, a severe enough case to which it leads to treatment) would hint more toward environmental factors (depending on how they were raised, and how closely linked their experiences were).
i would think it would be the other way around, unless i'm not thinking

edit:
i assumed you were speaking of identical twins, which i automatically think of whenever i read "twins"

37730
i strongly, strongly dislike you

okay, bye

How does it hurt the industry?
bad games flooding industry = bad industry

i don't give a fuck how profitable it is, i'm speaking in terms of quality products

just because the general public is too stupid to figure out that there's better games out there than CoD doesn't mean a damn thing

Serious / Re: if gender is a social construct

your gender has everything to do with your conditioning
how you were brought up

it is impossible to answer the question "what does it mean to be a boy/girl" without just listing off a bunch of stereotypes, which, while stereotypes all may have a kernel of systemic truth to them, there is no trait in our DNA that is inherently male or female

none that i have seen, anyway

you can talk about how women have a "maternal instinct" that tends to make them tender, but there are indeed tender, "effeminate" guys out there, too--and that's because their environment melded them into such

Disciplinary action has been taken, but unfortunately I don't know how to undo the damage that's been done.
Get over it. It's a fucking chatroom.
it's the principle of the matter, you see

if someone literally shat on your couch, i could just say, "fuck your couch, nigga"
"buy another one, you rich motherfucker"

but that's missing the point, ain't it
