Lol dude I think your lying to yourself if you think you would be okay with having a female body and your a guy now. Maybe for a day but you would probably kill yourself if you had to stay that way for a year or more. Oh, really? Okay. Gee, I'm so glad that there's people out there who know how I think better than I do.

Doesn't paying for space travel seem kinda silly when you think about it?
Paying for anything seems kinda silly to me, but...

you don't have to apologize
Anyway, depending on how often this thing is updated (I don't know if this is gonna be annual or what), I'm gonna be keeping a close eye on it, because these sorts of things fascinate me, no matter how frivolous or meaningless they are.

If there was an afterlife, that would change everything. How so? Or, I mean, from your point of view, what exactly would be so monumental about it?
Well, it would shatter my most fundamental belief: Efilism--the idea that life is fundamentally broken, and that, as a result, we have an ethical obligation to stop perpetuating it (anti-natalism, anti-procreation, et cetera). The existence of a heavenly afterlife would probably justify the imposition of life. Eternal bliss is pretty nice. It's my belief that nonexistence is bliss, but whatever.

Except it's the shooter that made console online gaming huge..... Guy, this isn't the end of the list. I imagine every year, they'll pile more games onto it, and we might see the entire Halo trilogy on there at some point. Don't you think the list is good for the first six? I mean, you can't leave out Mario, Pac-Man, Pong, and Tetris.

But no, I wouldn't call it a mental illness. I feel that besides a mental issue, it's also a physical issue when it comes to transgenders feeling like they're an opposite sex.
Idk, I just get a bad taste in my mouth when people call this a "mental illness."
All it is is acknowledging that it's a problem. A mental illness is a problem. And it can be solved by making efforts to make the transition. Or, my solution--come to terms with the fact that it's really not a big deal (especially if you live in a community that isn't at all transphobic). Because the transition is a very expensive, long, and faithful sort of journey, accepting the fact that you may never make the full transition--and that that's perfectly okay--might also be the best course of action. But that would require people to transcend a bit of their humanity, and some people think that's a bad thing, somehow.

Quake inspired a lot of other games. And where is Sonic? Doom was Quake's spiritual predecessor, was it not? And Sonic definitely doesn't belong up there. At least not for now. Sure, he was more popular than Mario for a short period, but he never really did anything revolutionary or important (that I recall). It was just a relatively simple platforming game on a console that was advertised really well.

Men are inherently like that. Considering the existence of exceptions (I never liked sports, despite being competitive in a lot of other areas--like argumentation--but a lot of women are indeed much more competitive than I am when it comes to physical activities), I really don't think so. I think a lot of people are inherently like this. It just so happens that a lot of them are men. And maybe it's because, biologically speaking, it allows men to protect women--maybe that's the reason why men tend to be more competitive. This still does not make the trait inherent to men and men only. Nah, I still don't agree with this. John Money's experiment proves you wrong. You keep citing John Money's case, as if it means anything. One isolated incidence. I'm gonna need, like, five. Ten. Experiments that don't involve castration. Because, John Money's case doesn't prove jackshit (neither for my side OR your side), because the experiment itself was botched. He didn't do it right. Therefore, it can't be used as an example. Provide me with more, better examples.

if missing out on good experiences is a harm, then perhaps death is a harm too... even if you aren't aware of what you're missing.
Missing out on good experiences is definitely not a harm. I've never been to Disney World. I'm sure it's a great time, but I don't really feel any inner turmoil for never having been there. If I let that kind of stuff harm me, I would've gone fucking insane. I don't think it's because we're "numb" to it, either--more that, we don't know what we're missing, and we're smart enough to realize that the universe doesn't revolve around us, to help us understand the fact that life is comprised of banal, quotidian bullshit most of the time. And besides--it's this stagnation that helps us appreciate the "good times", as it were. There is no free pleasure. I'm just saying, it doesn't quite work as a functional definition of harm, because harm tends to be one of those things that everyone should universally agree on. What pain is is really NOT up for interpretation.

Even though humanity has existed for tens of thousands of years the people over in Europe discovered North America some hundreds of years ago. Then when it comes to our moon which has been up there for billions of years some decades ago we walked on it. When it comes to our own planet we know more about space then what we do at the bottom of the ocean. The point is that if there is life out there they would be hindered by distance or technology.
"tens of thousands" absolutely PALES in comparison to thirteen billion we're talking .00001% of the universe's lifetime really not a great comparison

I don't think escapism is a good reason to do anything, really. I used to think the same way, but honestly, considering the stupid shit people are willing to do for the sake of "escapism", I can't say I personally consider it a rational endeavor. I play video games because they're engaging in some way, and sports games, being the way they are, are the opposite of that in my view.
But no, I wouldn't use the "why not just play real sports" argument, ever.

I value the truth over basically everything else. I don't care how horrible the truth is. If it were me, I would much appreciate having my faculties restored. And I think if you're a self-respecting individual, you would, too.

Grand Theft Auto 3 or San Andreas should be in there
I feel like Vice City never gets any love. It's my favorite GTA (then again, I'm not a GTA fan).

It's a thing now.Inductees thus far: The only one that makes me raise an eyebrow is WoW, but you know, whatever. I think a hall of fame for games has been quite overdue, so I'm happy it exists now. Here is their stated criteria on their nomination page: The World Video Game Hall of Fame recognizes individual electronic games of all types—arcade, console, computer, handheld, and mobile—that meet the following criteria:
- Icon-status: the game is widely recognized and remembered.
- Longevity: the game is more than a passing fad and has enjoyed popularity over time.
- Geographical reach: the game meets the above criteria across international boundaries.
- Influence: The game has exerted significant influence on the design and development of other games, on other forms of entertainment, or on popular culture and society in general. A game may be inducted on the basis of this criterion without necessarily having met all of the first three.
Thoughts?

Our Galaxy is the oldest Galaxy in the known universe? Doubt it. The universe itself has 1 billion years over our galaxy. I'm sure millions of other galaxies have been created within that interim.

As for the hostile aliens, I... don't believe in aliens, really. So there's that. I'll believe them when I see them.
Our galaxy had a 13,000,000,000 year head start, so you'd think they'd have found us by now.
